I'd say 10man has a few advantages. Easier to overview as a RL (I think), easier to spread out, less people who can screw up the attempt (o hai atramedes), less signs needed to get a full group ...
I reckon 10 man is harder tbh. Cause if one person screws up, it has a much worse effect on the raid than in a 25 man group.

It's all relative to the fight to be honest. Things where you need to spread out are easier in 10 man than 25 man.
One person screwing up can be just as bad in either setting. For Atramedes for example, if the target runs in the wrong direction far more people must react properly in 25 man than in 10man. You get a couple more oops in 25 man seeing as you get three BRs, but in either setting one mistake can destroy the raid anyways. Having more people who can screw things up isn't exactly good ^_^
Flexibility is a lot better in 25 man is the only real advantage I can think of. Having extra people or fewer people is really a per fight advantage/disadvantage if you need to spread out or not. Having that flexibility to have an extra tank or healer is certainly a big plus in favor of 25man though.

To our experience so far, 10 man are quite unforgiving. If one guy dies, whatever role he has, the role suffers very hard from it.
True, I knew I forgot something that made 25man easier than 10man. Cheers for that :)

Even though 10 mans can be 'harder', I find it much more pleasant. I prefer a small tight-knit group of friends having good progression...also far less drama.

yeah me too. my guild has mostly stayed the same and blizzard have brought raiding to us.
in vanilla we had to take part in an alliance to see any raid content, in tBC we did karazhan until we had enough gear to do ZA then in wrath we had full progression.

I wish I did ZA (prior to the Wrath pre-patch)

Did my first raid on my lock this weekend. His gear is still pretty crappy, since I've been mainly farming BGs and arena, and I refuse to wear PvP gear for PvE so ... yeah. No hit cap or anything.
Anyways, Argaloth, so pretty much tank and spank. Popped doomguard at the start and had time to pop my meta form twice. I did however forget all about demon soul sadly, resulting in almost 10k dps, third on recount.
This is by no means boasting btw (if it were, I'd be posting more epic stuff). Just an fyi. It's the kind of stuff I post in the druid social thread, so seeing as it concerns my lock this time, I'll drop it in here ^^

lol my lock hit 83 today. And has 20% hit. All from quest gear, crafted gear and a few bits from dungeons. No enchants, gems or reforges.

That's until you get upgrades that DON'T have hit on them. And ofc the amount of rating required per % increases as well.
Anyways, I'm at 8.50% roughly. Can't say my average ilvl since my pvp gear screwed that up :p

personally i've been macroing demon soul into meta.
although meta has a native 3min cooldown it gets reduced by impending doom so it doesn't feel like i'm losing much potential by putting them together, especially as you can make very good use of the demon soul buff with meta.
and grats on the first raid with the lock.
we had attendance issues this weekend so had to call off our raid. i hope that doesn't become an issue for us moving forward >.<

Nothing as dreadful as not having enough signs for even a 10man ><
Last friday we had a group going, but without any real raid leading. And then we had a chance to progress on nefarian. But people didn't really feel like it (not being an official raid and all that). Then they started to make up all kind of crap excuses ("we don't have CC for the adds in P1", um ... we have 2 resto druids, a priest, A FRIGGIN MAGE and a holy paladin. Lolwut?).
So we went for alakir again, which didn't go all that great either. But due to the lack of the usual raid leaders and the whiners we just called it an hour early. I simply could not bare any more...
Edit: concerning demon soul, it might be a good idea to put it closer to my nukes on my action bar. As a reminder ... hmm, I'll have to look into that tonight.

I ended binding my Demon Soul to Meta as well. I also tend to put a few in my nukes to send my pets off to various baddies that need killing.
Raid leading on a DPS class for progression content is a skill that I have yet to master. Far too many things for me to keep track of.
Anyone have an anecdotes on how they manage?

dunno how much help this would be but i know my old guild leader had an officer in each of the 5 groups so he delegated responsiblities to all of them. for example our resto druid officer had an add-on that kept track of all the druids b'rezzes and the cd's left so if a b'rez was needed it was as simple as her looking at the add-on and calling out who to rez.
in addition, he encouraged the use of /party chat between attempts to discuss things, and then have the officers relay the important points over vent (that way vent doesnt get cluttered)
hope that helps somewhat

I am a raid leading lock myself, to be honest not much changed for me. Instead of just looking at DBM bars I now read them out loud :P Just make sure you ui is nicely setup so you don't slack on your rotation.
