I find my self casting Fel Flame a lot, but as you say, only during movement and following the correct spell prio yada yada. Movement is just as in any other raids, really. Avoid the AOE. :)

i really don't use it often at all.
there's as much movement as always but there's still plenty of instants to cast.

I am a raid leading lock myself, to be honest not much changed for me. Instead of just looking at DBM bars I now read them out loud :P Just make sure you ui is nicely setup so you don't slack on your rotation.
Perhaps I'm putting too much on myself then--I may or may not be hand-holding my raid. >_>
I just tend to try to watch what everyone else is doing (right or wrong) so that when we wipe I can give feedback on what went wrong and how to correct it.

well i think trusting that each player knows what they're doing is important but i think that as a raid leader you need to know the fights better than anyone else there. you need to know each mechanic and what people need to do to counter it.
thinking through what i do on things like omnotron, the strategy is known to all before we pull so in the fight i'm reminding people of things they will forget about if they're getting that DPS/healing tunnel vision.
"group up for heals"
"keep spread out"
"it's safe for everyone to get in the next puddle"
"traps down, adds coming"
sometimes there's those moments where you need to call for someone specific to move or whatever but if you've got a good group that stuff should be rare.
so, thinking ahead, pre-empting mechanics... think shepherding rather than leading ^_^
(that's what i do anyway)

And if you really want to know why people fail, I've seen mods that track fails.

And that is fairly much what I do. Everyone does know the encounters. My issue--and I think it stems from an irrational need to not fail--is that I spend too much time making sure that the trap does go out, or that everyone does group up for heals, or runs away from the adds.
So, if I take a step back, and not make every wipe my fault because someone else failed a mechanic, then I might find it less of an issue to make sure I'm performing at my best as well. Spearheading, I like it.

it is difficult in ways that i don't think you predict before you start doing it, that's for sure.
i never expected to feel such a responsibility to the people there for their having a fun and successful evening.
for me, my initial reaction that that responsibility was to be too harsh with those who hold the group up or make silly mistakes and recently i'm trying to be more balanced in my approach - though we're a group of friends who raid not raiders who are friendly so that balance will be different for each person i guess.
regarding your focus on the group or your own performance, i imagine that the group size (10/25) will play a big part in that. in my 10 man raids my warlock is 1/5th (occasionally 1/6th) of the DPS team so i can't afford to be doing anything other than pulling my weight but for a 25m raid leader that might look a bit different. also 25m raids need more proactive leading generally i'm sure.

To answer a previous question;
On Atramedes, a fight with pretty much movement, I did a total of 27 Fel Flames, so not many of those.

So I havn't played a low level warlock since 3.3.3, and I wanted to play through the new worgan zone, so today I did both, even though all my other toons are horde. And by god it was fun. The quests, the zone, the mobs and other npc's were amazing. The sounds like creaking window shutters was fantasitc. The detail, as with all Blizz games, was fantastic. But the new lock changes were great fun. I have to say, I enjoyed the experience far more than the first time I leveled a lock, and that's saying something.

Finally got to buy my pvp trinket last night (not the medallion, the other one).
I wasn't sure if I'd get the
Bloodthirsty Gladiator's Badge of Dominance
or the
Bloodthirsty Gladiator's Insignia of Dominance
. A difference of 600 SP is a pretty big difference. But you need to remember to use it ofc, I normally prefer a proccing trinket for that reason.
Then when I said this in gchat, a guildy of mine said: "well, you can macro it to another cd.". And then it hit me (as it most likely did for everyone else):
has the same duration and cd. Perfect macro material :D

the icd of the proc trinket would more than likely be lower than 2 mins, so it would probably even out to be about the same amount of spell power in the end.

.....is it just me, or are the changes to Inferno not affecting the HoG refresh? So much for making things easier for us.

/cast Gnomish Rage
Apparently, since it got hotfixed the day after :p
Refreshing Immolate with Hand of Gul'dan is now correctly augmented by the Inferno talent, refreshing Immolate to a 21-second duration instead of 15.
