Only thing you benefit from it is better win ratio (if you win, of course).
That's his whole idea :p Better win ratio = more (or faster) guild rep
Actually, win ratio doesn't affect how much Guild Rep you get.Well uhm.. Let me try again.
You create arena team, get your team rating to +2k and your win - loss is, let's say 128 - 95. (1.35 wins per lose)
Then you create new team and get 28 - 6. (4.67 wins per lose)
If you had stayed in the original team it's win - lose would be 156 - 101 (in theory).
I mean that you have passed your training phase in PvP and want to create new team with bigger win ratio just because it looks better. You still face the teams with same rating (2k).
Reseting team does not change MMR. Reseting team does not make you win more than you did in the last team.
E: Now I figured the word I was looking for: cosmetic. It is only cosmetic change when you reset team (and again,
if
you win...)
True. But also the intention is to drag some new players in, therefore decreasing the overall MMR. The problem is we may eventually have too many people to assemble just one team. I probably should've said "make more teams."

No, but losing less means you win more in the same amount of time, hence gaining rep faster. Hence why I put "or faster" in between brackets.

Holy crap, Interest. We had a full 40-man raid for that and we nearly wiped.
I could probably solo him by circle kiting him to death.
I actually got him to 9 million (he has 12.8 million hp now) by myself before I accidentally reset him.

Ok so there's some room for optimisation in your character sheet but you know the game well enough to know all the things I'd say so I'll only mention that the meta gem upgrade would probably be the single best change you could make.
The 'rotation' is pretty simple but I would suggest you prioritise HoG pretty highly. watch its cooldown (not just Immo's timer) and use it as often as possible. Soul Fire's DPET is significantly higher so I totally get you not using it in 5mans but definitely make a point of using it in raids.
The Felhunter is currently the best pet for Demo on single targets yeah. If there's some AoE involved then the Felguard is likely the best option but the Felhunter's single target damage is excellent. If you use the Felguard be sure to get the most out of Felstorm.
SnF > Aftermath
;P
The thing that sticks out the most to me, though, is Metamorphosis. It is HUGELY important to get the best out of this ability and I cannot stress that enough.
With Impending Doom you can use it far more often than you used to be able to and so while in Wrath we used to save it for a burn phase, in Cata you want to get it used because you will almost certainly be able to use it again (on some fights several times!).
Unless the fight has something really specific that requires burst I would suggest using it on the pull (CoE > Meta > etc, etc,) and then on cooldown after that. If you default to that behaviour then you can finetune it further as you get used to the fights.
For example on Nef I use it on the pull (after a mastery trinket procs) then wait 20-30seconds to have it for P2 then on cooldown throughout P3. On a fight like Chimearon I use it on cooldown but avoid using it on Feuds and so on.
Hope that might've helped a bit! ^_^
edit: btw, as a Lovecraft fan I love the character name!
edit: Just to add that I would also suggest considering my simpler Incinerate spec. You swap points in Bane to Improved Corruption, add the Glyph of Incinerate and drop Shadow Bolt from the rotation completely. It's quite a bit simpler with one less button on your bars and allows you to largely ignore Molten Core procs (though Incinerate is still better than SF during Decimate) and only suffers an incredibly minor drop in theoretical DPS (all of which I think is regained in real fights).

The whales in Vash'jir can be soloed, but it takes a loooooooooooooong time if you do. The trick is staying far enough so he doesn't bite you and close enough so he doesn't evade. At least that's the case with the whale shark.
I had a chat with a fellow warlock last night after doing a bit of BGs and he and I will be trying out a spec with Dark Arts because of the nice buffed felpupp damage.
My changes in spec / keybinds are as followed:
points taken out of Improved Fear
points taken out of Demonic Rebirth
3 points put into Shadow's Embrace (used to be 2/3)
Dark Arts taken (as mentionned above)
I'll be using Soulburn for pet ress now instead of Soulfire (which doesn't really have amazing damage for affli)
Replaced my Soulburn+Soulfire keybind with a /petattack one. Nice for more puppy control, especially after the CC change (I might modify it so he goes passive when I hit shift)
Macro'd Devour Magic to Corruption, UA and Drain Soul. Can't believe I haven't done this sooner!
Glyph of BoA replaced with Glyph of Haunt again (although I'm not entirely sure about this change ...)
We'll see how this turns out, more 3v3 tonight, I'm guessing this setup will be "inferior" to the previous one against mage teams because my pet rarely hits anything on those. Damn roots.
Edit: @ mr. nekronomicon: is that on a dummy? Because as you're probably aware you don't have a sub-25% phase on dummies, which means no Soul Fires. Same with affliction and Drain Soul.

That's not such a big deal for Demo as its DPS graph doesn't incline all that greatly at the end of fights like Affliction. A factor to be sure but not a big one.

I personally am not a fan of this idea. Devour Magic will still cast if the target has no dispellable debuffs...

Yeah, and if I keybind it, I forget casting it. I'm running out of keybinds as it is, and I have many things to think about in a fight already as well.
So in a nutshell: the fact that it casts when the target has no dispellable debuffs is a small sacrifice I'm willing to make :) Iirc a hot counts as a "beneficial magic effect", so I believe the chance in my target not having a hot on him is pretty small ^_^

That you can't use enough keybinds is something you need to work on then, but don't promote that bad practice to others.

Okay, so I've been itching to try out some new MMO's lately. Do any of you have any recommendations for a Mac player? I prefer RPGs but am flexible.
