Tips and Resources Needed

Hello. I've started playing wow 2 weeks ago, and I really liked the addon system. I've been looking here and in the WoW Community UI forums, and I've seen many different kinds of UIs. Before coming here, I actually tried to put together something. My UI is functional for what I need, but I feel like it's kinda cloggy and ugly, so I wanted some tips.
I also noticed many of you have some very interesting textures, and I wanted to know if there is any place where I can get these resources (Other than the SharedMedia addon, which I already have downloaded), or if there's any guide about making these textures.
Another thing that'd be interesting would be some kind of replacement for the original frames (Spell book, social panel, guild panel, etc), which I haven't managed to find, but apparently many of you got it done.
I'd be really thankful for some help in any of these, and I hope I can contribute to the UI community in the future.
My current UI:

Thanks again,

Why are buff bars and bottom bars so bad? Personally, I like knowing the buffs/debuffs without having to mouse over them, and many of my friends do, too. Although I understand they can take some space on the screen...
And about the bottom bar, I've heard ridiculous excuses that I don't understand, such as that they make you a sloppy player (?).

Cuz they're ugly.
Bottombars forces you to fill a part of your screen. They cover the in-game world, how the ^&*! is that positive?
"I like knowing the buffs/debuffs without having to mouse over them"
Seriously? What level of play are we talking about here?

Thanks for the tips, and there are some changes I already intended to do, like removing the bottom bar and buff bars. I'll try doing some of the changes you suggested. The only thing I didn't understand was what Brokle meant with "configure your unit frames". Could you make it...more specific?
Oh, and I'll try to find the media packs, thanks for the suggestions.

"Configure your unitframes" means that you should actually open the config for an installed addon. You have ton of information showing, you have so much showing it's actually cramped up inside the UF.

Oh, thanks. I'm working on it now, trying to do something with my limited Lua knowledge. I'll post another screenshot later with my results.

Failing any of that, feel free to just ask here. I know of at least a half dozen people on these boards that will gladly assist, and usually before I even get a chance to read the post

I'd say the bottom part is almost done. Only some tweaks to do. The top part of the UI, though, is still not good. I wanted to get rid of Titan Panel, and find a specific (or maybe not) addon. I've seen in many UIs a stat monitor frame, like the one magenuggets provides for mages, and really wanted to know what addon is used to make the bar.
Another thing I couldn't do was to remove the race text from Pitbull frames. Pitbull is really good for Luatext, it has many presets that really helped me. The text I got was the original one, but without the druid form text, which I removed:
local dr,dg,db = DifficultyColor(unit)
local classification = Classification(unit)
if UnitIsPlayer(unit) or (not UnitIsFriend(unit,"player") and not IsPet(unit)) then
local cr,cg,cb = ClassColor(unit)
return "%s%s|cff%02x%02x%02x%s|r |cff%02x%02x%02x%s|r %s",classification or '',classification and ' ' or '',dr,dg,db,Level(unit),cr,cg,cb,Class(unit),SmartRace(unit) or ''
else
return "%s%s|cff%02x%02x%02x%s|r %s",classification or '',classification and ' ' or '',dr,dg,db,Level(unit),SmartRace(unit) or ''
end
I don't really know what to do with it. I need to remove something, but simply deleting SmartRace(unit) didn't work.
Thanks again, you all have been really helpful for me :3

Ought to be what you're looking for if I've understood you correctly.

auctioneer is probably the memory culprit. I know my personal auctioneer database is 50 something megabytes.

As an aside ... don't listen to them about removing buffs/debuffs and standard button bars if you don't find their reasons compelling. I consider myself quite experienced with the UI modification world and only one of my characters actually uses a bar mod. The rest just use the standard bars. The one who does, even, just has all the buttons showing at the bottom anyway. I also use x-perl.
Most of the folks here think my taste in UI is off the deep end, but there you have it. I use it because it works for me and I don't see a need to change it.
Anyhow, do what makes you happy and what allows you to play the game to the best of your abilities. Just because there's this lust and elitism form minimalist UIs doesn't mean it's the "right" way to play or even the most efficient. It's all down to what works for you.

Actually, it's not auctioneer, but Zygor Guides Viewer. It consumes around 30MB. Yes, I use it, go ahead and kill me. But anyways, thing I'm working on:
• Removing chat tabs
• Trying to pixel-perfect my borders (Although I'm failing awfully at doing so.)
• Finding better pixel fonts
• Finding some kind of addon that can replace Titanpanel's memory display and maybe a real-time stat display
Oh, and what's a good, customizable addon for nameplates (Other than TidyPlates)?
@Wanderingfox: It worked! Thank you very much

Here's the diffrence between user-specified-UI's and designed UI's. We showcase our UI's, therefore they are more stylish - in our taste. Just like showcasin' cars, they might lack some function from time to time but the whole picture is much more pretty. And we care for aesthetics.
