Not a single problem. In fact, normal instances hardly require CC (it's useful and sames time and healer mana, but I've lost count of the number of times where the rogue gets spotted and I have to jump in or the hunter doesn't know how to trap) and all that buzz about new instances being extreme hard is !@#$, we just don't insanely outgear the current. Come two new patchs, however, we'll be back to the same situation we were in WotLK. I just hope that until them Blizzard doesn't never the dungeons like they did you Halls of Reflection mostly.
The only issue I've had is low rage on a few bosses that only do magical damage.

so im having trouble tanking and holding threat.. is it just me or does blizz hate prot warriors? i mean they nerfed everything that gave us extra threat.. do they not want us to be tanks or what?
anyone else having problems with threat/tanking?
nope, no problems so far. i don't think blizzard hates prot warriors :D

Still don't use blood and thunder. Still rocking heroics.
One thing I do miss is having an interrupt on heroic throw and an actual silence on shield bash. I'm going to have to figure out where to steal points to get gag order again.

If you skip concussion blow, vigilance and impending victory you should have the points for gag order easily. For a PvE build you'll be skipping safeguard anyway (unless you need it for some particular fight). I have gag order now and it's almost as good as before, at least for heroics.

The current 8 I don't take are Safeguard, Impending Victory, Blood'n'Thunder, and Gag Order. I'd like to keep Concussion Blow, but I can drop Vigilance. Keeping a vengeance stack is not really a huge concern and I'd take the added utility. So a point out of Shield Spec maybe.

Porcell, that's an interesting build. What do you do on trash when there are multiple caster mobs? Is it worth putting 2 in for cruelty? How tasty are the Shield Slams?

10% crit on shield slam is very nice. Don't leave home without it.

I usually just ranged tank (using spell reflect) and taunt as necessary (if there's dots on it or something). The thing is, a 10k or 20k shadowbolt is relatively the same regardless of it hitting a tank or a DPS; it's not like it can be dodged or parried or reduced by armor. I'm not super concerned if a stray shadowbolt hits someone else, but I generally have them under control anyway. (In TBC it was common to have a DPS "offtank" a caster mob, which basically means don't tank it and let it free-cast on whoever.)
The alternative is to tank the big pack, get threat on everything, then charge to the spellcaster and shield slam it. The melee of the pack will come after me, and any casters in the first pack will have a bunch of threat on it.
Rarely. RARELY, a DPS will interrupt a caster I am ranged tanking and it will come over to me. Rarely.
As for Cruelty, big damage, big threat, big talent that boost damage from Prot tree. Yes.

If it hits a caster it will slightly delay their cast. This is more of a concern in the case of a healer than a DPSer. A few spell going astray isn't something that wipes you (not in itself anyway), but it is ideally something to be avoided. Particularly since spell reflect is such an insane rage generator.

Yeah, most of the time a taunt (for the fixate) and a spell reflect will glue a caster on me, assuming no one runs over and physically hits it.
Which they (DPS) always seem to do. WHY WHY WHY do you run over to the caster and attack that one when there's 4 juicy targets right in front of me that you can attack. Leave it alone and let me ranged tank it in peace.

DPS aren't always famous for doing the smart thing. Particularly after Wrath. Doing random heroics really illustrates how many people need to be reeducated for Cataclysm.

talent blood and thunder is very useful now and its doing massive dmg when you fight 3+ creeps.
The more CC the better, This is where Blood and thunder is dumbed down. Trying to tank 3 mobs with entry heroic gear will oom your healer within a minute. The talent is Preference more then must have.
bad prot warrior usually make similar mistakes. worst mistake, by far, is when you see warrior walking to targets instead of charging. i guess those kinds of tanks are total new in tanking but still, you can find tank like that still.
I body pull. The reason i do it is because, Charging in has a less desired effect then to pull the mobs back from CC'd targets then to just charge in lolrendthundclapbreakallcc. This does not symbolize a bad tank. I could use this same notion for the fact you use blood and thunder.
next mistake is that some tanks dont use blood and thunder at all. i saw few tanks with only 1 lvl of blood and thunder and that is total silly. or they have 2 points of it but they dont rend target and thunderclap it after it. or generally doing things too slow with rend and clap so dmg and aggro is wasted.
It's not a mistake, It's total opinion on the skill as stated above.
my rotation is almost similar in all situations. only different is when i see that dps have 1-2 sec break before start dps or not.
i start with battle shout first because i spam cleave all the time. cleave dont make global cooldown.
that means that you can charge at target and use rend and cleave in same time. thats why i use battle shout before any attack. warriors dont seems to know that fact and they casting 1 spell at time and that is big mistake.
so rotation is battle shout ( or command depends on classes you have in party), charge, cleave+rend, thunderclap, shockweave, thunderclap. ofc, you cast revenge anytime it proc.
no way to lose aggro like that and if there are 3 or more creeps, your dps will be number 1 in party or 1 of best dps.
Problem with Cleave is it will hit what targets it wants. Meaning if you're fighting more then 3 (Which is pretty much the case all the time in 85 dugeons and heroics) You'll end up breaking CC. Being the top DPS in your group is not an aim while tanking, If this is the case your group sucks and your going to be in this particular dungeon for a while. You should rather be top threat then dps.
playing tank without proper using blood and thunder talent is waste. tanking with no glyph of cleave is waste.
Again it's not a waste it's a matter of opinion.
1 last tip for new tanks. if you tank 4-5 or 6 targets at once
Last tip, You'll be dead due to healer being oom if you tank this many mobs.
once you practice your tanking roatation you wont be needing this no more but it can always be usefull when you see some creep running around. clicking on targets is slow and noobish in the end :)
Tab targeting is a lot slower then clicking a hostile name plate. Mouse over macros are awesome for this kind of situation.
