So, I was dueling my brother last night - 82 Arcane Mage vs 84 Shadow Priest, both of us in quest greens (and for me, some Wrathful / Relentless Gladiator gear that hasn't been upgraded yet).
Granted that I've got some resilience and he doesn't, and he's not the greatest PvP'er (and neither am I), but it was far too easy to CC / spellsteal / wtfburst him down, despite the fact he's got twice as much health as I do (80k+ vs 44k).
Shadow Priests used to be one of the top caster classes for PvP. Does anyone know how casters fare generally in Cataclysm?
Edit: Also, if I have my mage, and he has a Priest and Paladin, what do you think we should do Arena as?

Honestly I wouldn't use your Mage as a frame of reference. All QQ aside,
at the moment
Mages are/perhaps can be horrendously too powerful.
(look on the official mage forums, every other post is 'NERF MAGES!')

yeah we're too good in PvP at the moment but you shouldn't consider a duel between an 82 and an 84 to be any indicator of this.

Wasn't saying it's an indicator, just using it as an introduction to why I'm wondering about it. I know Frost Mages are strong at the moment, but I wasn't sure if it was a melee-specific complaint, or a general complaint.

Heh, I try to avoid the official forums as much as possible for precisely that sort of reason.

I'm not saying I agree with it, but it's different this time. It isn't one or two 'QQ' posts, it's 5 per every single page etc. When there are complaints about specific things in such massive amounts, it makes me listen and consider a lot more.

Overpowered? maybe
Lets see once people start getting proper gear, what happens there.
I still have trouble with rogues and the /charge /win blenderfaces that call themselves warriors...

I can see this point, definitely. But I always wonder why Blizz tune things for later levels. We're not at those levels, so in my eyes it's kind of silly to do so :) Only takes a quick hotfix right? So do it later heh.
I'm sure there's more to it than that but come on... it's Blizzard. They're huuuge.

I was more aiming at let people get their honor and Tol Barad runs and get into some Vicious/Bloodthirsty or whatever and get situated in not questing gear, and the "zomg so much damage" should stop.
Is our deep freeze anything really different from what a rogue/paladin/warrior can pull off? And they can do that more reliably down in the 40's bracket... >.>
