First time playing an Enh shaman so I'm not really up to date with the preffered speed of OH/MH yadda yadda.
I just hit 70 and have a couple weapon combinations I could use but I don't know what to go with.
These are the weapons I have.
My default weapons up till now are two of the Warlord cleavers enchanted +26 agility on both.
What should I roll with?

Armblade and warlords cleaver. Always go with a slower weapon, unless the dps just blows the other one out of the water.

Cool, I'll do that then.
Thanks :)

Slower weapons with higher top end damage win out for sure.
Lava Lash is our new best friend, and should consistently be your #2 total damage on the meters after melee white damage.
I've been amazed with the increased output of LL with our new talent format. 50k crit, anyone?

Could anyone please explain to this newbie why slower weapons would be the better option? I've seen that mentioned a few times and I wondered why hitting fewer times would be preferable. Does this mean I should be looking for two-handed weapons?

Weapon based abilities hit harder this way, and your auto attacks hit harder per hit to make up for the speed difference.

Quality over Quantity

No, Lava Lash requires an offhand weapon to even be used, and we get enough bonuses to dual wielding that using a two hander is a dps loss.

Indeed, cleaver in the off-hand for sure.

Does that mean that there is a mechanic in the game that simply applies a harder hit, the longer the gap between hits?

This is important because weapon speed only affects auto attack. Your lava lash is going to have a 10 second cooldown no matter what speed weapon you're using, so to get the most damage out of each lava lash, you need to have a slower weapon.
Ah I see - it finally makes sense to me. Cheers for the help.
