That's kind of a complicated process when you could just answer the guy's question.
I didn't take the Hero Board either, I got the leader quest from a guy in Deepholm. There are apparently several different breadcrumb quests that take you to the Uldum-unlocking escort quest.
Anyway, go to Southwest Tanaris and find
Adarrah
at 30.5, 65.5 and you should be able to do the quest
Easy Money
. This will be the escort into Uldum, where you get by the and you need to out of the to unlock the Ramkahen lines.

The breadcrumb starts either from an NPC in Deepholm or your Archaeology trainer. I got mine from Belloc in Orgrimmar. Alternatively, you can probably just go to Tanaris like Porcell said. Should work fine there.

I got the escort quest from Belloc as well (he is where Garrosh is in Org). But like others said, if its like any other lead up quest you should just be able to goto the escort quest in tanaris and do it, youll only be missing out on like 4k exp and a little bit of rep if you dont get the initial quest from Belloc or deepholm

“Build a man a fire, and he'll be warm for a day. Set a man on fire, and he'll be warm for the rest of his life.”
Carbonite is a really simple process actually. If this sort of thing had happened to me (and it has) I would just open up my map and instantly know where I need to go.
Simple yes but entirly un needed anymore I use to use carbonite but since wow put the in game quest helper I find it 10x better I took carbonite out of my addon folder all together.

That and the problem is that Carbonite still wouldn't tell him where to go. If he's running around in Uldum asking "Where are the quests, AUGH!", opening up Carbonite or Wowhead client isn't going to tell him the specific quest he needs.
Hell, the dude even said "There's an NPC in Tanaris but I can't find her!" The OP seemed pretty helpless. If I were him and I KNEW there was a leaderboard quest, I'd just Wowhead search for that quest and see where it lead. In fact, I just opened up the Tanaris zone in Wowhead, went to the quest tab, and sorted by level. Boom, Uldum leader quests.
Some people just need things handed to them. Carbonite wouldn't help in this case.

I can not understand why blizz would hold you back for exploring in a Adventure game
because you didn't do it "there way" /facepalm!
That's because WoW isn't really an adventure game. It's an MMORPG, and yes they're different. Adventure games are basically sandbox games, where you can do whatever whenever, and you don't have to follow the main storyline if you don't want to.
While it's possible to do this in WoW, it's extremely inefficient. You're meant to quest most of the way to 85.
Also, exploring =/= doing quests out of order.

This.
There are two types of MMO on the market. One type is the linear, story-driven type. Most MMOs fall into this category with WoW being a prime example. You start out in a low-level area and eventually make your way through the world to the high-level areas. The other type is the sandbox MMO. Very few MMOs are sandbox MMOs, but if done correctly, these games can be quite fun. Eve is the best example that I personally have played. In Eve, you can make yourself useful in pvp within a short time of picking the game up. There's not really much of a story and PvE is very much de-emphasized.
In other words, WoW = linear = the vast majority of MMOs.
