Hello,
I've recently started a duo with a friend for battlegrounds and PvP in general. He is dead set on playing an affliction warlock, so I'm trying to decide what class I could make that would have good synergy with him. Someone mentioned to make a druid because of their versatility, but I am unsure. I usually enjoy playing classes with a lot of utility or capability for keeping the enemy from doing what they are trying to do. I can't seem to figure out what will go well with a warlock, though. So any advice would be appreciated.

Well, a druid isn't my ultimate decision, yet, as I'm looking at all possibilities. I just need to figure out which possibilities those are. I've only had experience playing a Protection Warrior and an Assassination Rogue to 85. Unfortunately my friend lacks an 85 character, because he recently got a WoW account to play with me, so I have to make a character from scratch.
So far, it sounds like any class would do alright with a Warlock. So I would need a class that best suits my playing style (controlling the fight, hard to kill, or just being really really annoying to fight). If any of them have any direct synergy with a warlock, that would be nice.
I had a lot of fun playing my protection warrior in battlegrounds from time to time, and that was with a typical heroic tanking spec. Anything similar to that would be great.
A couple of other questions:
1) Do engineering items work in BGs? I heard something about some items being restricted from BGs, but I'm not sure which.
2) Can druids in shapeshift forms (cat/bear/moonkin/etc) use engineering clickies like the parachute cloak enchant and such?

From a DPS perspective, Warriors and Rogues have had the longest history with warlocks; while during WOTLK, basically every comp with a warlock in it was viable for Gladiator, specifically any caster class.
From a healing perspective, druids and warlocks just work together really well, always have. Paladins and shaman are good as well, with priests kind of on the backburner. Warlocks have always generally had problems with rogues, so a good healer with poison dispel could fix that weakness easily (but now dispel mechanics are wildly changed, so who knows).
Anyways, in the end I believe that you can complement your friend as ANY class. Rogue, mage, shaman, druid, warrior, whatever you want I'm certain it'll work out.
