I think this item sums up fairly well what is wrong with wowhead comments right now

It actually starts with 6 garbage comments (which are rightfully downrated), the first > +1 comment is just as bad (lol trolls geddit xD), the highest rated comment is downright false information ("No its not i was the only mail user (Hunter) and couldent press need") and the last two comments aren't even relevant to the item in question!
Out of the 14 comments, only 1 is useful (and it is a correction of a false post that shouldn't be there in the first place) and 1 is funny enough that I would let it be.
Needless to say I was liberal with the downvotes, but I'm just one guy. Could I suggest maybe having the posting guidelines and rating guidelines be emphasized a bit more? Maybe make them mandatory to read while creating a new account, or adding a button on the frontpage along the lines of 'Hey! Did you know there are
some guidelines
to help improve your commenting and rating?".

Well, it seems that some people's perception of "Insightful/funny" is different than yours.

Yea.. What Toldu said.
With a name like "Trollish Dreams" you should expect a lot of "funny" comments.

Well, if people find a comment unhelpful they will vote it down; if they find it desirable, they vote it up. Comments with negative ratings are automatically purged after a while.
However I think it's perfectly normal that, every now and then, a comment you don't personally like is in good standing (positive rating). We are all different and the usefulness / funniness of a comment is partly subjective. If the majority of our users find one or more comments on that page interesting there is really not much you can do =p
