Arms simply outclassed in PvE?

Now, I know I am far from a good Arms warrior, but I was just kicked from three randoms for being arms instead of Fury as my DPS OS.
The reason why I stick with arms is that I like the play-style better. Something about Bladestorm is just too cool.
But am I SoL for any serious DPS? I see Fury Warriors rocket by me on DPS in Wrath normals.

I have easily over 1k dps between my fury pve spec and arms pve spec, and that without using my cd in fury.... (at lvl 83)
I think that arms and fury should be nearly equal but fury rotation is so easy that fury really shine atm.
You should play what you are better at ...
It's weird people kick you with that reason, I dont think it's especialy because you are arms, but just because you must be really low on recount.
If you do better dps than average, people wont kick you. That's all.
If you cant get the "average" dps with arms, you should go fury because the rotation is really easy.
The only time I've been kicked on one of my chars is on my rogue because I forgot to use ToT on most trash and I died nearly everytime.
If people want to kick you it's because they are sure they'll have someone better once you gone.

If you're like me at all, you'll be too stubborn to swap to fury.
Currently, we just have to wade through the bad times till we get more gear. Hit and crit make up for too much of our dps and we just lack that atm. I did far more dps at 81~82 than I do at 85 simply because my crit/hit ratings weren't as nerfed as they are now.
The same thing happened in wrath, so hopefully it will all pass in time.
Until then, either go as prot (unless you, like me, hate tanking; though you did mention a dps offspec) or bear with being so-so dps until later.
All I can say for now is get as closed to hit capped as possible; I can still pull at least 7k with my horrid stats.

Its because other players thinks that arms is a pvp only specc, or a variation of the same theme; good dps specc at low levels for levelling-then pvp only specc.
Arms was great for PVE dps back in TBC, decent in WOTLK and works now too, but somehow people thinks that arms=pvp prot=pve tank and fury=pve dps. It aint, there is pve arms, pvp fury, pvp prot, we know that, but for some reason the general wow population dont know that.

I have been removed from groups for no reason at all. Just running along, chewing through the dungeon, then bam, I'm back chilling in SW with a "You have been removed from the group" message.
I would say more its because people are jerks or don't want competition for gear.
I know that in my case, it wasn't because of low dps, as my recount showed I was at the top of the DPS chart consistently throughout the heroic.
Arms is definitely competitive in terms of DPS, if not better, and I know for a fact that my spec is tuned more for utility (Blood and Thunder, Throwdown) than it is for raw damage.
If you're being kicked from groups, and they tell you it's because you're Arms specced, they're idiots.
keep in mind that early Wrath gear is bad news for arms warriors, when I first started Arms at 80 I would have been happy with 2k dps in a regular dungeon.
Now in Cata heroics, I'm slamming out 8-9k average, up to 20k dps on big trash pulls (Sweeping Strikes, Cleaves, Thunderclaps + Blood&Thunder, Bladestorm)
Keep holding on. Arms is by far more fun than Fury, and don't stress about idiots in your groups.

Nowadays, getting that dps with all your shiny skills is getting your tank and healer mad because of two reasons:
You overaggro and makes the healer waste precious mana on you
You will probably break cc and make the mob un-cc-able for atleast 15sec because of your Blood and Thunder (unless you have a mage with a glyph)
Those two can be reasons big enough to get you kicked. No one wants to heal "dumb" dps (not saying you are, I just hear that often now)
EDIT: To OP, your skill priorities and a link to your character would be helpful. That way we can figure out why "Fury Warriors rocket by you on DPS".

Well, I logged out in my Tank Spec/Gear.

Not gonna lie, my DPS set is a poor joke. Reaplace my Cobalt pieces with their spiked counterparts and give me Ingvar's cleaver and that is almost it.
My main opener is Charge>Rend>TC>HS>MS I use cleave for AoE packs, OP whenever it procs, and my excess rage usually gets dumped on Slam.

There are places even in the new heroics that call for AoE damage (some of the first trash pulls on heroic Deadmines, if you use a pet to pull the Murloc trash on one wing of heroic Throne of the Tides, as well as several other places.
If CC is being used correctly (on the casters away from the melee parts of the group, where passive cleave damage won't touch them) I can feel free to drop Sweeping Strikes or Cleaves, tank threat permitting of course.
Of course I don't charge in and blast anything that's polymorphed or whatever, and if something is CC'd on the fly then I make a point NOT to use AoE damage moves.
I understand you weren't trying to call me a "stupid dps" but that's how it came off. I have been kicked from groups for literally NO reason, with NO cc breaks throughout the entire instance and NO wipes.
the point of my post is that Arms is perfectly viable in PvE, if just in Cata and nothing else, since it has all of the tools that are necessary to do large amounts of damage.

Well, if you're dps'ing in tanking gear than that would be a huge contribution to poor dps. Skill, rotation, and proper spec will only get you so far. Arm's is a VERY gear reliant spec, and most of your gear is low ilvl wrath tanking gear (I noticed your trinkets are from a hellfire quest and a level 60 instance).
If you're not hit capped, have a reasonable amount of expertise (roughly 4%), and at least 25% crit at this point; then you won't be able to pull very impressive dps no matter how hard you try.
As for rotation: you list your opening combo, but what you want to maintain is - always keep rend up (but don't try to refresh it too early, let it fall off, or get close to it), mortal strike when it's off cooldown, overpower when it's available, and fill every gap with slam.
As you said with aoe; bladestorm, sweeping strikes, cleave, etc. (but I would only bladestorm in 5+ pulls)

you want more dps output from arms:
deadly calm to gather up rage, then use inner rage when its available, battleshout and proc your dps abilities and trinks CDs, colossal smash, overpower and heroic strike, if done properly is good dps leap.... and i still don't use slam or strike for that matter.
but yeah, you really need better gear for dps warriors, as Arms i am using the tol barad Sword bought from commendations (85pcs) with hurricane (haste enchant), i focus on 8% hit, then reforge for crit, with STR or haste food buff and some more crit pots...
still wearing green shoulders and pants, but with enchants, the older dps pant enchant leftover i had, and the newer rep shoulder enchant (will get the exalted version soon).
still using the chaotic meta and some blue or green or purple gems, and some enchant scrolls bought cheaply from AH or scored from guildie leveling up professions.
rounding 10k to 11k dps on regular 85 dummy, and doing stable 8k to 9k(burst) on raid 85 dummy.
am a little short in justice points so i could by a new set of pants, this week for sure.
so for summary: get into good guild (the perks and vent communication), do guild runs (befriend tank and healer if you have too), i would try to avoid (hour long queue) pugs (2hour heroic and did not finish) now, and probably start up gathering profession, gather and sell for gold to support your expenditures...
