Hey guys, big fan.
Long time reader first time poster.
I made it to 85 and wanted to give the Shadow Priest a try over the weekend. They are alot of fun, but I noticed how little my shadow word: pain was doing with all the burst going on around me in the bg's. It seems to function as a mild irritant to the people I face.
I only have 2 pieces of the new pvp gear with a few generic greens and blues from dungeons on me atm, so that is problem #1. But I was wondering if Improved Shadow Word: Pain is worth putting points into? Are the 2 points and 6% damage increase a good idea?
Any help appreciated. Thanks.

Yes due to other effects you gain from it. VT is your main one. Damage done while kiting is always a good thing. Plus, I love how many people think my apperition is me when I've run round a corner.

Bad advice is Bad.
Mind spike will not do the damage needed to take down a target with any kind of resilience. If anything, it makes you a sitting duck.
Consistent damage is always a good thing. Considering it gets refreshed when you use mind flay (which you should be doing to slow down and kind of melee anyway, 6% is worth it, especially when that 6% increase becomes 12% on crits.
Also remember, Dispelling costs a fair amount of juice these days. I;m not going to dispel everything on a player, especially in a battle ground. It is also a bad thing to attempt when VT is up as there is a consequence for removing that, which works in your favour.
