Overhaul
Hey, I could use some help picking out a new internet.
Currently I have been using satellite. The service the first year was good, i could play my toon for 15-30 min before a d/c and had about 800-1.2k ms. The second year it went downhill. I would d/c more and more often and my ms went up dramaticly ranginng from 1.2k-23kms - yes that is 23000ms (record of 26k, i didn't even know it went that high, could literally highlight my action bars 3x over before it did anything, if it didn't d/c).
Now my contract is over (was a 2 year contract with them) and am looking for a new provider. I am still with them while looking for a new provider. I can't find another satellite provider, cable don't run though here, dsl doesn't run though here, only line internet is still dail up (Yay for 80s living and yay for being a farmer). So I am stuck between a rock and a hard place.
I managed to lvl 4 toons to 80 on it, but the service has gone to trash. I now am unable to even log onto my account anymore. I d/c within 1 min of being logged on, I can't use chat on anything, and most of the time the webpages freeze or only 1/2 load. Their customer service was useful the first year, but now if we ask for help they pass me from one person to another until i give up.
Lately I have been looking into teethering, and into 2 new forms of broadband I have found (which i want you guys to weigh in on if u know anything about them). The first is HSPA - from AT&T. I just learned i
Just
entered their 3G area - like one week ago. Also the 2nd is EVDO from sprint and verison - both I believe i belong in their 3G area also. Just wondering how these work, if they are viable for gaming (WoW in specific), and if anyone knows the costs.
Any other information would be useful, as well as any other forms of internet access you are aware of.
Thx much, from your friend who can no longer play WoW.
