Scarlet FeverI don't feel like this is worth it at all. You shouldnt use blood boil much anyway, and though the disease is nice, it doesn't justify the lost damage from Heart Strike. Am I wrong about this?
It is not a disease: it's a non-dispellable physical debuff. The talent's own commentary provides this answer.
As far as its worth, you'll AoE at least once in trash situations to cement your aggro hold. Even on raid bosses, this is mandatory to keep up since your first priority is to survive (second is hold threat, etc.). Your job isn't to DPS so don't be concerned about that. Save your Warriors and Paladins their DPS resource so they can hurt the big thing better that's trying to kill you. You use your resource to stay alive after establishing your threat lead.
Please note, however, that this logic doesn't apply to interrupts: if something needs to be interrupted, as many people as possible (except probably the healer) need to attempt to interrupt it. If nothing else, it saves healer mana.
In fact, the only time I see this not being worth it (and similarly the Druid equivalent not being worth it) is when you run with a Prot Warrior or Paladin AND they have a substantial amount of time on the same target you're tanking. If they don't (i.e. they're tanking adds, kiting, or generally doing anything else), take it. It's 10% less damage to you and that's a savings on healer mana. Worry about your ability damage when you're in DPS spec.
Blood ParasiteIf you want the answers to how much they heal for, try looking at log reports for healing done on the World of Logs website.
Finally, if you were theorycrafting, you would be running your own logs and examining them. You would be testing your own talent builds, doing walls of math and checking out log reports to determine uptimes of different abilities or debuffs provided by different classes. It's fairly simplistic to dig through a log report and find healing done by Blood Worms.
But first, you would read stickies (at multiple places) to get a feel for a consensus on what you're interested in. GENERALLY, they have an overall view or basic build. Alcotraz's own sticky guide at the top of this forum is actually pretty decent, though it doesn't delve hardcore into math or general limitations of stats like other forums.
