There are no hero classes, the idea was scrapped a long, long time ago.

I tried to find a thread in the same vein but I couldn't find any that I felt were closely related enough *and* new enough for it not to be considered necro-ing if I posted there.
There are multiple threads that go over 'Imagine X as a Hero Class', that have been done to death and back. Just have to do some more digging. There closely related to your post.
Necroing a thread isn't really an issue, as the points you addressed are also in the old threads. Which kind of means there wouldn't be a need to bring back an old thread, or make a new thread, as your points would be addressed.

After the disaster that was class balance as a direct result of DK introduction, there will be no new classes, ever. There were a few GC posts about how DK were not really a "Hero Class," as they had to be on par with other playable classes (people who were around in 3.0 may take issue with that "equal" phrasing).
The problem is that it takes so much effort to balance 30 spec (more than that really, because of PvP vs. PvE specs and different uses of those specs i.e. Kitty vs. Bear) and those are specs that have been around a while. When you have to balance well over 30 playstyles around a new creation, one that has not been played and theorycrafted extensively, the game falls apart.

Someone should tell them that.
