FRAWST. 2h. Awesome burst through KM>OB, kaboom aoe because HB is the most poweful aoe in the game(and spammable!), and you kill mobs so fast healing isnt a problem. If you get low, bandages/lichborne+DC/DP will do the trick.

Too bad HB is gonna get Nerf'd quite badly in 4.0.6 :<<..
Howling Blast now deals 40% less damage to all targets other than the primary target of the spell.

For pvp either 2h frost or 2h unholy
My observation of the 2 was frost was based more on rng and more time spent without runes but with a 2h weapon you will generate lots of runic power so you almost always have enough to spam frost strike during rune downtime.
2h unholy has more on demand burst with a slight ramp up time (6x scourge strike /Dark Transformation/Summon Gargoyle/Unholy Frenzy) Unlike frost with unholy i almost always had runes (
Runic Corruption
) but the runic power generation was much lower and forces you to conserve it. Also unholy has more utilty with the ghoul 3 second stun and AMS absorbing 100% of magic damage and giving you more runic power.
Both specs are good and based on personal preference try them both and and see which one YOU prefer.

I think the conclusion we've reached is that your spec doesn't really matter for leveling speed for DKs.
I was Blood, Frost, and Unholy during my time leveling from 80 to 85. I spent most of my time questing as 2H Frost, respecced Unholy around the middle of 83, and used my tank spec to finish my questing around 84.
I eventually preferred questing as Blood, but Frost and Unholy have their merits too.
