I've been gemming Mastery (on all but the first cata piece I got w/ sockets on it) with pretty good results thus far. It's hard to "track" how good or bad it's doing, but as long as I keep my Blood Shield up.. I'm pretty sturdy even in bad pulls in heroics (me being in mostly 333's right now).
Hard to say for real until I actually start raiding, but it seems Mastery is pretty powerful for Blood DKs atm.

Why does no one read the god damned STICKY'S!
There are currently two ways to gem:
1. You go full Stamina in Blue Sockets and then Mastery/Avoidance or Threat (depending on what you need) in the other Sockets, with Mastery having Priority.
2. You go for full Mastery in every socket.
Both ways are possible, the "best" way still remains unresolved. This will be updated when it is discovered, in a few weeks.

- Avoidance:

If you're a Jewelcrafter you should focus on getting 3 of
Fractured Chimera's Eye
in your gear giving you a total of 51 extra Mastery.
Things to know:
- Gemming for Hit is no longer viable, it shares the same color as Stamina now, and you can reach it through Reforging if you want to. You can't Reforge for Stamina though.

@ DraconisAerius :
I did, 5 minutes after I posted my thread :P
Right... Still this is why we have stickies, and a search function on the forums.

Just going to put in here, that even someone who has all but sworn off getting Stamina as a stat I'd take the stamina one because the armor bonus is nice and you can get the speed increase on your boots.
I generally go Dodge for red gems, Mastery/Stamina for Blue, Mastery for yellow.

imo go stam in all blue slots and mastery in all the others. Gives ya the best of both worlds.

No matter what, stam is always better than avoidence. There is enough RNG for us to worry about without having to rely on avoidence.

Stamina Gemming Avoidance Reforging works fine, as does Mastery Gemming Mastery Reforging.
Hm-hm... I just though.
Ran some instances and it seems my DS got a bad habit of missing in critical moment, expensing a good HP loss for nothing. (Erunak's fire breath being one example, where you get about half HP drop that amounts for a nice blood shield, but whamm... it missing.)
I plan to get to the hit cap as close as possible without reforging, would you recommend to reforge/gem(/enchant?) for mastery afterward?
