Grid does not trigger mouseover

I got this problem with Grid: the middle right section of boxes (about one third of the boxes' area) does not trigger mouse-over. The responsive zone is a "C" shaped area.
By leaving the box through the opening of the "C" Grid does not sense I no longer have no target. Grid then directs all spells to the last target it registered. This makes funny results in combination with macros choosing a spell based on tags like .
At first I suspected X-perl, but the problem occurs without loading X-perl. Also, the "dead zone" of Grid has changed with releases of Grid since patch 4.0. What now makes me expect this is a problem with Grid itself. At the moment I'm at version 1.40000.1403.
Or maybe my configuration has gone bad since 4.0. I wonder how I can solve this.

Suuggest using @mouseover macros for spells instead of relying on Grid. Added benefit is you can use these w Grid, sillhouettes, nameplates, and any portrait bar.
Structure is
#showtooltip
/cast Renew; Renew
If your mouse is over a friendly, alive target, it will cast Renew, otherwise it will cast Renew on your target if it is friendly, otherwise it will cast Renew on yourself.
If the problem is with your Grid install, erase it from your Interface folders, remove grid saved variables files from WTF folder, and check wowinterface or curse for the most recent patch.
When all else fails, go back to the ship and nuke the site from orbit.

/cast helpfulSpell;helpfulSpell
is the correct syntax. Both 'nodead' and 'help' implies 'exists'.
