Here's what I can think of off the top of my head. It's by no means definitive, but it's better than nothing.
Holy pally:
Great burst heals, lost of instant casts, can heal two targets with one healing spell via beacon of light.
Resto shaman:
Most balanced right now. Can heal tanks or the raid.
Druids: Lots of instant casts, primarily uses HoTs
Priests: crappy right now, should get buffed in the next patch. disc uses bubbles mainly, holy can use chakra which changes holy word chastise into different spells based on which chakra state you're in.

Priest's have good versatility atm, and will be even better when 4.0.6 goes live. Disc is now a more single target spec but can heal a 5-man group really well. Holy is now a priests AoE spec and whilst they are in a good place atm, things are looking up for them in the future.
Druids are also looking to get even better than they are in 4.0.6, they also have lots of fast casts and the versatility to heal either the raid or a single target.

That's kinda interesting that everyone here is saying that priests are doing crappy but druids are doing better because everywhere else I've heard it's exactly the opposite.
Anyways, here are my opinions on the classes.
Druid: Relies on HoTs and can basically blanket many people with HoTs, and thus makes a good raid healer. Their Tree of the Life form (which is now a CD) makes some of their healing spells stronger.
Paladin: Relies on big heals, thus makes a good tank healer (but can be good in a 5-man as well). My advice is to not roll a pally unless you like standing in one place all the time, because they have very few instant-cast, or short cast time heals.
Priest: Disc priests rely on shields to mitigate damage, so their playstyle is fairly different. Uses healing along with the shields. Because of this, they're good tank healers, but are also good for 5-mans (used to be they were one of the best specs for 5-mans, not sure now). Holy priests rely on AoE heals so they make good raid healers. But priests of both specs have a large array of heals to use.
Shaman: Kind of a weird mix between pallies and druids I suppose, they have the small/medium/large heals, as well as HoTs (riptide, earhshield) and then their "AoE" heal, Chain Heal. They can perform well as both tank and raid healing.

Paladin: Best haeler in game. Can do single target very nicely and also aoe nice too. Best healer in game. Cant go oom almost never.
Shaman: Is second best healer in game. Good shields like earth shields. Aoe healing is good. Maybe best aoe healing. But aoe healing is good anyways. No flows at all.
Priest: Maybe better or badder than druid. Much heals and aoes. Two specces. Holy is best for hims.
Druid: Hot healer. Aoe much. Tree of life cd. Its good.
Advise: Go pala or shama.
Best itself healer dk. :)
