Of course it will be more useful, the question is just how much. Best bet seems to be it will be clearly better than haste but worse than pretty much all other stats (agility and, say, spirit aside). At most it might equal crit in some situations.

It depends entirely on HS useage after the nerfs hit. If Furys are dropping it from the rotation all that excess hit has to turn into something. We were only stacking hit to increase HS usage for the most part.
As sakkura said it will *likely* be better than haste, and since you weren't reforging crit off your gear (for the love of god i hope you weren't) that leaves only mastery as a secondary after the expertise cap.
TL;DR- avoid mastery, for now, but keep an eye on it in the future.

Might also consider the mastery buff as a slight salve in the face of the heroic strike nerf. You might not gear for mastery, but if your drops haven't been perfect and you have a little mastery here and there, it adds up and helps your overall damage. This is mainly through improving Enrage's damage multiplier, but also making Raging Blow a heavier strike and Deathwish a stronger cooldown.

I Did a quick check yesterday, changing trinkets and basically nothing else, ate some 90 mastery food, and used my trinket when the other procced, leaving me at 22.7 Mastery. (
Mark of Khardros
and
Harrison's Insignia
giving 2178 Mastery rating)
At that point
Raging Blow
reported to do 208% damage, which feels decent, but getting it even higher wouldn't make me QQ, but after the next patch it goes up more.
Tried it with a Death Wish, and Raging Blow reported 227% damage and Enraged Regeneration healed for 74% of my total health. 2178 Mastery rating also increased the damage from Death Wish from 29% to 36%.
Worth it? i don't know, but it does increase damage done, picking between a piece with Mastery that i might be able to reforge to suit me better, and a piece without Mastery that i might not be able to reforge (but i might not need to do so) I'll probably do some testing with more mastery once the patch hits, but to me it looks good, maybe not "The Best" stat but it seems to only get better the more you have.
Edit; Fixed my numbers.

Well ofc it gets better the more you have of it, but it's hard to really test before we can reach the gear to try one setup with loads of it, and a setup completely without it. (when 4.0.6 fury-buff is out ofc, before would be pointless)
I for one do not have access to that kind of gear yet, but my theory is that it works that way, that may be proven wrong at any time, and that i really cant back up with anything except my very small sample size.
Also in the likely event we can reach 3-4000 Mastery rating we could plausibly reach the same amount of basically any rating, and the way it seems right now is that Mastery is fairly low on our prio-list, but it might change, but i doubt it will be the best stat we can aim for.

@ dissapearing- you also have to weigh the loss of HS dmg v. the buff to slam and BT. Dropping HS entirely would definately be a loss, but im not convinced we are going to gear *for* it via stacking hit.
Latest discussion on several warrior forums shows that we may be reverting back down to something like 10% hit and stacking crit and (to a lesser extent) mastery. With that level of hit we would have just enough rage to maintain our on - GCD moves. Lucky hit streaks would allow HS use but it would definately be on the back burner.
Also might be worth mentioning, HS being off the GCD is nice, but GCD's aren't the limiting factor to our dps anymore, its rage. HS in its current state has a comparatively low DPR compared to anything else, lowering its dmg will have obvious implications on where it belongs in the rotation.

the enrage ability also goes up with mastery but the amount is very small, i went from 0 additional mastery rating to something like 2200, it went from i think 13% enhanced dmg to like 19% enhanced dmg, so even with the buff to master, it will only give it an extra 1-2%, info about raging blow and deathwish already been stated. Just look at recount where your majority of dmg comes from, #1 is melee hits, 2nd is usually heroic strike 3rd being bloodthirst, imo it would make sense to work on crit rating instead of mastery.
When it comes to primary stats on gear, i want crit/hitt on my gear
