Chances are that yes, some new games will come along and take a small portion of WoW's playerbase, at least temporarily. That is the nature of the market. However, many people who leave WoW (myself included) always seem to come back. There is simply to much time and effort invested in this game to just up and abandon it in some cases, or in others there are just to many friends here that don't want to switch games. The only thing that will ever truly end WoW is Blizzard.
The fact is, WoW has more players than every single P2P MMO that has ever been in existence combined and there IS a reason for that, despite what haters may say. WoW delivers consistent, generally high quality gameplay. There is no doubt that Blizzard has made a genuinely incredible game and the sheer number of players proves that. For a game to come along and destroy WoW is incredibly improbable.
The issue you bring up is the main one by the way, WoW is the best at what it does. No game similar to WoW will ever pull the kind of success it has. The genre needs to evolve at this point into things like DC:Universe, games that bring something new to the table that WoW simply can not do with it's current engine. Do not be surprised at all if Blizzards Titan is a whole different genre and gameplay style than what WoW is now.

Players move from mmo to mmo. Honestly when I started playing wow when it was first released, I probably knew 30 people playing. Of those original 30 Its just me and 2 guys left, everyone else has quit and moved on with either life in general or another mmo.
With that said, wow subs continue to climb. One day will be your day to quit, and mine, but it won't really change anything in the long run. The only thing that will change is the people who started day 1 vanilla are going to become more and more rare.
