Beacon of Light target

Right, so tell me people, what's your Beacon of Light target?
If you value Tower of Radiance (Which I don't - for better or for worse, I'm still not certain, but it never seems to help me generate any form of HP without making me go OOM), I am aware that it would be the best choice to put this on the Tank.
However, as stated, I have specced out of Tower of Radiance, as I simply can't find the value of 3 points to be worth it.
In this case, I am sitting at several choices. Holy Light is generally enough for me. I rarely use anything else. If things are going rough, I'd much rather put on a CD, and keep spamming Holy Light, rather than using FoL or DL. This means my heals are small, and not capable of keeping the tank up using nothing but Holy Light. This leaves me with 2 choices:
Put it on the tank, letting me heal other people with less issue, as the tank will still get *some* healing, when I have to save the occasional dps from getting killed by AoE, cleave, anything that happens to strike him/her.
Or, alternately, I can put this on a dps, preferably a melee dps, who will then be kept alive, despite said Cleave, AoE damage, while I heal the tank.
The second option have the disadvantage of leaving the rest of the dps'ers unhealed, and will likely result in quite a bit of overhealing. For that reason, I find myself putting this on the tank, and leaving it at that. Is that the best choice currently, or not?
I am aware that some fights require different tactics. If you have any specific types of encounters in mind that may require a different use, feel free to add that.
I have also noticed, although I'm not certain, that the Beacon seems to gain 50 % of the healing done by the PotI and Enlightened Judgements. Both of these adds to the healing on the beaconed target, making it seem far more efficient to pull this on the tank.
Tl;Dr: Who is the best target for Beacon of Light? Tank, Dps, or even yourself?

This. With beacon on a melee, a HL on tank will hit for 10k. With beacon on the tank, a HL on the tank will hit for 13k+ because of the PotI bounce. When you heal the group, you smooth out tank damage while doing it. Overall, it just fits to have it on the tank. Bouncing PotI and EJ onto the tank help make up for the low throughput of HL. And lets not even get started on bouncing Light of Dawn x 5 onto the beaconed target...

For lack of a better analogy, Beacon of Light is like a "healer Hunter's Mark". The target that has been "marked" gets "hit" for more. It doesn't make much sense to put it on anyone else but the player that needs that increased healing.

Which would be the tank. This just doesn't fit very well with the glyph :/
Though that does seem like more than I expected. Hadn't really thought about it all that much, but after testing it once, I found it actually works better to heal anyone else taking damage, rather than the tank, even if he is the guy with the lowest hp. Had no issues at all, and with the occasional DL, everything went smoothly, with no mana issues what-so-ever.
Lovely :P

Anyone else notice that the title is "Bacon" of Light. I know I'm probably beating a dead horse, but I'm new to these forums and that highly amused me.
On topic: Beacon of Light's target always on the tank, you should never really have to Beacon yourself since you already get heals from talents.
Ehm.... uhh... right. Fixed.
One thing to be said, Tower of Radiance really begins to shine when you begin raiding and your tanks are getting hit hard, very hard. We had the MS, quick cast shadow blast and high damage fireballs on Halfus earlier. Between raid members being chewed into tanks were constantly hovering around 20% because the MS was causing 10k DL crits until it wore off. I had to straight spam DL in the beginning rolling my CDs to allow a few less DLs.
Might be worth it on specific encounters then. Just, so far, I haven't found it useful in any instances, neither on normal, nor heroic. CDs seem to cover everything perfectly well for me.

Well Bacon of Light was a slip from Blizzard when they were introducing the spell in a preview, if I'm not mistaken. Pretty amusing then, too.
I find Tower of Radiance a nice constant panic button. I'd try putting 2 points into it just to see how it fared, but I like the functionality. I'd personally miss it if I just moved it all out. Normally I put Beacon on a MT, but sometimes if I'm with two other Holy Paladins. Yeah, two. 10man stuff. I'll put it on the OT and just profit from the fact they aren't paying attention.
The Beacon glyph is a strange one. The duration is kinda making it moot for a good chunk of content. It's not even that expensive to begin with. 6% base mana seems to just be a drop in the bucket when compared with most of our spells.
Putting Beacon on anyone but a tank has been a totally situational idea. Deathbringer Saurfang was the last time I saw it put to use. If an encounter calls for it, well then, sure, do it.

What that glyph needs to do is what it does now, and in addition cut the GCD by half a second. The idea is to move it around a lot, but I'm not going to do that if I have to eat a full GCD to do so. I'd rather just cast two heals and be done with it.

Yeah. I think the intentional design was to switch your Beacon around as your group was taking damage. But I don't wanna waste a GCD either, so I just spam heal trough it instead of having to switch the Beacon.

It's totally needed in raid IMO tho. You're SPAMMING Divine Light on your tank really often, so the extra 3 HP is really awesome.
