Quick life tap question

Hey all :)
I've just got a fast question.
I'm currently leveling my shaman as a resto/enh. Mainly resto in dungeons. The last 20 or so dungeons I've had warlocks with me who constantly life tap, no bad in that, but even after battles with mana breaks they simply wont eat or drink :/ My main char is a lock but i haven't played on him since the expansion so i dont really know the mechanics of them any more.
Pre-expansion i had a druid resto and with them life tap isnt a problem, just toss up a rejuvination and they are in good health. But at my lvl 45 i dont really have many hots other then my totem.
I remember when playing my own lock i'd life tap and if i got in bad health start to drain life or use bandages, bring potions...and have a snack on the nearest corpse (undead) after combat.
My question is:
If there is time to drink/eat...do you ever heal a warlock after he life taps or do you "force" them to take responsibility for their own health and mana?
Btw, i have no problems healing life tappers, i'm just curious to know if this is the new standard warlock playstyle. Maybe they have some new healing abilities i dont know of :)
Thanks in advance!

Warlocks now got
Soul Harvest
.
When playing my Warlock I never ever drink. I Life Tap to full mana and then Soul Harvest to regain my health.
If he is tapping between pulls just wait a few seconds so he can self-heal. If he doesn't then just tell him to use Soul Harvest. If he still doesn't do it then you can just stop healing him between pulls.

Soul Harvest is quite the boon to Warlocks these days. It means they're not nearly so dependent upon their healers. Sometimes, a bit of bandaging is more than enough. Or, if they are Forsaken, they can eat one of their enemies every couple of minutes for both health and mana.
However, I am dismayed to see these negative responses towards Warlocks and Life-Tapping from my fellow Healers. I do get that many Healers see it as self-destructive and stupid behavior... WHY THE HELL would ANYONE harm themselves? What Morons, right?
Life-Tapping is not a bug, it is not something which players do, just to piss you off... Life-tapping is a CLASS MECHANIC. (aka, designed in by Blizzard) Albeit, it has the potential to irritate others (like T-storm for EleShams) But if you can get over your initial reaction to this mechanic, Life-tapping really isn't that much of an issue unless the lock is tapping inappropriately (too much at once, or while he's taking a buttload of damage) and getting himself killed in the process.
Honestly, I would love to do PvP or questing with myself and a couple of Warlocks. Everything would die a horrible, nasty death and we would never, ever, EVER need to stop moving. I would love to do a dungeon with a tank and three Warlock DPS. (Perhaps, one of each spec)
Yes, the game has become more heal-intensive, and so class-hatred towards things like lifetapping has probably intensified, but Blizzard has also provided other options to make it not so much of an issue. There doesn't have to be a problem with this mechanic. Warlocks are capable of bringing a lot to a party or a raid, and people need to keep an open mind.

Locks heal themselves quickly enough, life tapping isn't really an issue in a fight. If a lock needs to grab mana a riptide will help them not die before their self healing kicks in. Now the guy that life taps himself near dead after a fight, don't heal because they are either too lazy to go buy water, or their attitude toward your mana pool is disrespectful.
Actually, they typically buy more food than water.
The chief benefit of Life-Tap is that they *never* go /oom, as long as they have decent heals. And it doesn't really take that much. A very small amount of your mana becomes A LOT of mana for them. It also means that Warlocks don't have the same downtime as some other casters do. They are ready to go, almost anytime. And, if you are being good to them, many Warlocks are more protective of their Healers than other DPS players tend to be.

My main is a lock, and I've got a shaman on the go to see if I want to be using it at end game as a healer, and I totally agree that if a lock tap's out of combat, they can heal themselves. In combat it's a bit of a different story, unless they are affliction spec'd and have all those yummy self heals.
heals for 1
Life Tap
worth of health every tick, and ticks 3 times, but at the same time it has a cd on it so if you are killing mobs quite fast you may end up waiting for them a bit. So life tapping out of combat is their resposibility, in combat however... Personally I tap only when I go under 20% mana and the fight is going to last more my remaining mana will. But then again I have healer toon's, so I know that if I'm nice to the healer, they will be nice to me.
