Personally, I think they screwed around with Winterspring too much...
I was out questing, killing bear men for beaded necklaces, when I noticed that one of them dropped a book.
... lo and behold, I had just killed the High Chief of the Winterfall without even realizing it. Apparently, he got tired of walking back and forth inside his cave, and decided to save the adventurers the trouble and sit out in the first camp along the roadside leading to Everlook.
And don't get me started on the 30+ Winterfall Runners moseying down the road, oblivious to the fact that they are dead bear-men walking. Apparently, they walk in single file to soak up the arrows or something.
As for the Wetlands: I've really disliked that zone ever since I first stepped foot into it an- "FREAKING SPIDER!" *whack whack* whew... "ARGH, SLIME!" *whack whack* Jeez... "GNOLL!" *whack whack* come on, reall- "DRAGONS!" *runs away* "MORE GNOLLS?" *keeps running* ~out of combat~ "MRGRGRGGGRGLLL!" *dies*

It's a couple hours to plow through the area. Not a big concern when I go through there.

Just leveled a Hunter through there. never like Wetlands to begin with and still don't so I didn't really notice. Eastern Plaguelands was very well done I think and that one Badlands quest with the old NPCs is a hoot.

Ruined FOREVER
, right?
No, Wetlands was nothing but a colossal time sink before. Run to Menethil, run to the far end of the zone, kill something, run back to Menethil, repeat until the waiting period on your new firearm clears so you can shoot yourself.
Any
change would be an improvement on the old zone, including Deathwing just giving the whole zone the Park treatment.

To the OP: I have to agree with all that have said any changes to Wetlands are likely improvements. It was really a pain going back and forth (without a mount) when I levelled all my old Alliance characters there.
I don't really care about wetlands and such, I'm just annoyed to pieces over what blizzard did to ashenvale. You know, the heartland of night elf territory? So they wreck basically half the forest, give half of what's left to the fricken horde, build two gigantic horde fortifications, one of which is made entirely out of stone and iron (transported in from where, exactly? Horde doesn't have a single port nearby, in fact not a single one on the entire eastern coast of kalimdor), with a fleet of iron-hulled ships anchored outside of it, and meanwhile the draenei over in forest song have been hammering on the same shacks for over four years and haven't been able to finish a damn thing. Slightly mismatched focus of attention, I'd say.
If there was EVER any doubt that Blizzard's favoring the horde, well, I think this expansion pretty much blew away all doubt. New and improved orgrimmar for example. Yeah, just put the friggin airships to the other capitals RIGHT INSIDE the city, next to the flightmaster whydoncha... Also, spend about 50x more effort enlarging and reconstructing the entire city compared to any of the alliance cities... .
Myth/legend/million-times-stated-fact? of WoW is that Horde cities (etc.) got minimal attention prior to launch and all the true development time went into the Ally side of the game. If Ashevale was taken over by murlocs is that game-breaking? At least with it being the Warsong Orcs pushing in it fits the storyline...
Stormwind and Org. are the hubs of this expansion --they should have gotten all the lovin'
Suppose the next expansion introduces some new spiriturally-introspective monk hero-class and the elven cities become the hubs (imagine whatever combination you want). If they just keep adding new city hubs you end up with alot of places being severely underused. What no game I have played before has ever done is cycle back (and recognized past factioning... that would be innovative). If I had to put money on that though, I give WoW the odds-on to reuse a place like Dal in an expansion or two.
I'd suggest that revision + new is going to be the model moving forward, and that is very good for the game in my view.

It's unbelievable the amount of crying about all the changes. I thought the changes were WAY BETTER. Back then, it took forever to complete 10 quests, and there were hours and hours spent running or flying back and forth. A huge time sink. Now it's way better and less confusing for new players. I remember back then, I had to go to wowhead for practically 99 out of 100 quests to understand what or where I needed to go. Now it's like 1 out of 100. It's awesome and I love it. Wetlands quests are way better than before (as well as all other 1-60 quests. Outlands can use some improvement - the group quests are annoying because we can't solo them - but I'm not gonna complain).

The people who say that the Cataclysm expansion is favoring horde is all true. If you pay attention to the other quests and all events before and after the sundering the horde had important roles and alliance involvement was gone. We are now in the way of the horde and have no real purpose for azeroth. Alliance has done nothing for the world or made huge changes for Azeroth other than fight the horde back from the lands they are invading.
