Both fire and frost are amazing. Fire can run and gun, while doing good damage, and it has burst damage (not to mention it's FUN.) Frost has great CC, good burst with deep freeze, and enough survivability tricks that they're very hard to kill. Not to say fire doesn't have survivability though. Fire can survive a killing blow because of cauterize + ice block.
I love fire, but both fire and frost are amazing specs.
