Pretty much. That's how it was in Wrath too, but there was a much larger margin for error.

i pug a lot and don't see this kind of stuff. at worst, people drop group with not a word said.
but even if they did act like this, what would i care? my tank queue time is instant, and i wouldn't want to play with people like that anyway.

never been told I couldn't tank because I was a Paladin. Probably the most absurd %^&* I've ever heard. But you know, this is why I don't pug Heroics.

After spending an hour trying to get a PuG to do the second boss in Heroic Grim Batol, I stopped pugging all together. I figured out the mechanic and how to deal with it within 15 seconds of pulling for the first time....they have no excuse.

If you get kicked you also receive a lockout. It gets reduced by the amount of time the instance is going on.

I just quit the game (I know, you can check out but you can never leave) but I had good experiences with the RDF almost every time I used it. People CCed marked targets, didn't stand in the stupid, and generally did good DPS. I was a pally tank, and did my best to rotate cooldowns, keep the mobs focused on me, didn't break CC (unless necessary) and also didn't stand in the stupid.
Besides being a tank (which is very useful in inspiring politeness - nobody wants to piss off Mr. "I can drop and get an instant queue") I also tried to be polite and respectful to my fellow players; waiting until they were full on mana + health before pulling, /readycheck before bosses, making sure everybody knew the strats before pulling, denying vote kicks for stupid &*!@, downing all bosses instead of skipping if somebody needed a specific boss after I was fully geared, that kind of thing. I only ever kicked for low DPS once, on the final boss in Grim Batol - we had two melee DPS with no slows (both ret paladins), one ranged DPS (hunter - he was dropping frost trap in the hall to try and slow both of them), and one of the melee was only doing about 4.5k DPS - the two melee just couldn't down their mob in time. Both of the paladins were from the same guild, and it was the other paladin who initiated the kick with the reason "Has to be done."
I did, however, kick for repeatedly breaking CC, chain pulling, obnoxious behavior, or outright incompetence - that kind of thing. I almost never had to do it. I don't remember one instance of someone talking smack, ninjaing an item, or otherwise being an ass.
I'm actually going to lay a lot of the blame at my fellow tank's feet - a bad attitude can flavor an entire group and bring out the worst in people, and being able to drop group and instantly requeue gives a lot of leeway for people to be asses, as they don't have to face the consequences of their actions.
As an aside I really did enjoy both the heroics and the raids - you actually had to use your noggin to an extent, as opposed to WotLK's lolaoe heroics. The only instances that bothered me were the Halls of Obnoxious Trash and Stonecore - the former because of the trash (boss fights were fun except for Marrowgar 2.0) and the latter because of the first boss. Grim Batol was annoying for all the trash, but individual pulls weren't that hard after the drake run. Other than those complaints, I felt that the dungeons were challenging, but if you actually thought instead of charging in, you could clear them without too much trouble.

That sounds par for the course. People are still in the Wrath mentality and expect a faceroll, or at least everyone to be 100% perfect, without any real thought, and cast blame when things go wrong because you CANNOT faceroll through Cata normals, much less heroics (at least not now, and I hope not in the future since Blizz seems dead set on keeping that ridiculous badge system in place to obsolete content every new patch)

I've gotten some really wacky groups on my holy pally...including one that requeued mid-fight so I zone in to 2 party members with a sliver of health going down and dying immediately to a boss then being told I can't heal because I'm a pally. Yea I'll take a 15 min timer over a party like that any day!
I haven't really noticed a trend in the tanks, I've seen good and bad tanks from all the classes. I've seen good and bad from most all the dps too although for some reason I tend to have extreme experiences with rogues but that's just my luck I'm sure. They are either freakin amazing or the biggest worst nublets ever with the biggest mouths.

When has LFG ever
not
been like this?
Grouping with random people is great, except for the grouping with random people part.

IMO the problem is most people using the LFG expect a fast run with as little distractions (such as marking CC/kill orders or explaining fights) as possible, while there are still a lot of people that aren't 100% sure of fights. So you have most PUGgers being unhelpful if not downright rude because its a waste of time to explain the fights to a newbie (see the "Worst reason to be kicked" thread where someone was kicked for taking 10 seconds to explain a fight to someone who hadn't run the dungeon), yet these people are the first to tout the old "Go run with your own group then" to anyone who complains instead of taking their own advice.
LFG should be for the masses who understand that dungeons take time, and you might need to explain (or at least go over briefly) a fight or mark CC and remind people "Mage sheep moon, Lock fear circle" or whatever. IMO it is currently being exploited by selfish, entitled d-bags who can't be bothered with giving back to the community.

I have done like 30 heroics with my warlock and only once did the group fail. We wipe very rarely on bosses. Actually no I dont think that cata heroics are harder than wotlk heroics. Still same aoe fest. But thats what its supposed to be. Heroics are just stepping stone to raids, they arent supposed to take much time
