Firstly,
http://us.battle.net/wow/en/character/frostmane/%C3%8Bternal/simple
I'm now raiding 25m, got up to chimeron in bwd, and the council in BoT. My question is what number is comfortable spirit to run? I know Int>Spirit, but I'm just wondering what is working for you guys before I start regemming and things. Finally got jc to a decent level so I'm still working on getting my gems (not going to guy chimera eyes when I can get one a day for so much cheaper). What are you guys finding that works and when are you guys going oom?
Edit: as for my serious stacking of haste I'm trying to hit that 12.5% for renew

Firstly, if you still need regen, Spirit is actually better than Intellect now. By a fair margin, although as of 4.0.6 the margin will become a lot closer.
You have spirit in every slot, including trinkets. Looks to me like you have plenty TBH. The main thing I'd be trying to do is replace all those crit pieces with haste or mastery pieces. The better throughput by dumping off that dirty crit will probably do more for your longevity.

Oh also, you don't need that much haste. You have 3/3 points in Darkness, so even without the 5% raid buff you only need 1182 rating. With the 5% buff you only need 516 rating.
If you are having mana troubles even with all that spirit, try to find 2 points to put into Mental Agility.

You shouldn't need to be gemming for pure haste or pure spirit. Instead, it would be better to use intellect/haste (or mastery, when you are comfortable with your haste) for your yellow slots and intellect/spirit gems for blue slots.

Thanks for all the replies! I'm not going oom at all. (well on ODS I did a little, but as a standard I don't). I was just wondering what other priests are doing. I feel like an idiot just just stacking spirit and haste. But know I know that I only need 9.23% haste, so thanks!

I'm using an AA/A build as Discipline. I'm running with about 5000 intellect and 2500 spirit unbuffed, and I found last night in 25-man BWD that I didn't really have mana troubles at all. I used Shadowfiend when appropriate and didn't need (or have time to cast) HoH and I still finished with plenty of mana.
As for consumables, I was using the
intellect flask
, and
intellect food
and ended up with about 110.8k mana :O
I'm thinking that 2500 Spirit should be sufficient from here on out, and I'll try from this point forward to tack on a bit more throughput stats. I'm also thinking that 3000 Spirit would probably be the highest I'd expect to see a Disc priest have this expansion, but that's an early guess and of course
YMMV
.

So wait. you don't need that much haste. You have 3/3 points in Darkness, so even without the 5% raid buff you only need 1182 rating. With the 5% buff you only need 516 rating.
I thought the 5% buff was multiplicative in that it gave 5% (or 1.05*) of what you already have? not add a straight 5%. (I'm talking about shadow priests) are you referring to another class' buff?
Edit: for grammar
