I am thinking about getting a laptop with a ATI Mobile Radeon x1300 graphics card.
What kind of fps can i expect from this video card on low settings.
Ill include other specs just in case they matter.
3 gb ram
80 gb hdd
2 ghz dual core processor
it will run with my 1.5mbps verizon wireless modem
xp professional

Replace XP with Windows 7. Windows 7 is miles better.

so the graphics card would work fine?

I doubt it.
I Googled "ATI Mobile Radeon x1300" and the first page that came up says "ATI Mobility Radeon X1300 is one of the weakest graphic cards from ATI. It can hardly be used for current games". The chip is about 5 years old, nearly as old as WoW.
You might be able to get by on low settings. By the looks of the specs you've posted, you are aiming for a budget machine?
I suggest you aim for at least 4GB RAM, at least 250GB hard drive and a better graphics chip with at least 500MB dedicated memory.

ty for info
this one has 256 mb video memory btw

You could probably run
Lemmings
on ultra settings with 256MB, but that's about it :P
I suggest you bail on the specs above and look around for something more modern.
Are you on a budget, or are you just not too knowledgeable about hardware?

i relooked and the card actually has up to 512mb
and i am on a budget
i really dont mind low settings in wow
all im trying to get is a relatively cheap laptop with good enough graphics to stay at 20-30 fps in 10 man raids

Since no one is actually telling you the info you want to know, i have lower then that i get consistent 10-20 fps, which doesn't make a difference. My laptop doesn't hang up or drop in fps its consistent and thats what makes things important in raiding. Keep in mind that alot of your framerate relies on the tweaks and settings you have with windows itself. I have vista and naturally with default settings, i would get 1-5 fps since it loads so much extra non essential looks.

The ATI Mobile Radeon x1300 will run WoW, at the lowest settings, and probably give you framerates in the teens, and be somewhat choppy in a big boss fight. It will also turn into a heating element. The graphics card is barely better then the Intel integrated chips you find in most low-end laptops. It might be better if you wouldn't mind telling us your spending limit. Also, do you need a laptop or would you use a desktop?

To be completely honest, with the way technology is progressing when you buy a new computer, you want to get relatively new hardware and software (like in the last year or so). When I got my laptop there were no 64-bit programs out, so I got 32-bit Vista and processor. Now I have upgraded to 32-bit Windows 7, and I can tell you that 32-bit is hurting me in the fact that it doesn't recognize more than 3 gigs of RAM.
There are plenty of newer affordable pieces of hardware out there. Most companies make a "series" of products, with as they get better the price goes up... but they're mostly still new technology. Take processors for instance: You can get the same type, but for more money you can upgrade its speed.
Also as a general rule of thumb, a good laptop nowadays can cost anywhere between $700 and $1300, depending what you're looking for. Desktop computers, however, are much cheaper (as the labor is cheaper since they're much easier to put together). Don't know what your situation is, but if you already have a perfectly functioning laptop, getting a gaming / performance (work / programming etc.) desktop would be a better investment. They also don't overheat as much.
Replace XP with Windows 7. Windows 7 is miles better.
I still love XP. It's perfectly fine OS to have. There is nothing wrong with it, it just doesn't look very pretty. Vista was total and utter crap, and if anyone has Vista they should get Windows 7. Windows 7 isn't really that much better than XP, it just got rid of all the stuff that made Vista bad.

You can also see if any of the following
Troubleshooting WoW Performance Tips
helps:
Issues with temporary game files may cause a drop in game performance. Try resetting your user interface to clear out these files.
If any in-game settings are set too high for your computer, you may notice a performance loss. Lower your in-game video settings in the System menu to improve performance.
Outdated drivers can conflict with the game, decrease performance, and cause errors. Be sure that your drivers are fully up to date.
If you're playing on a laptop, optimize your power management settings and graphics options for gaming.
World of Warcraft requires an up-to-date operating system to work properly. Run Windows Update.
Also there are these Advanced Troublehooting Tips:
Background programs take up some of your computer’s resources, which can make your game appear choppy. Close any running background applications and try again.
Check for overheating hardware. If it looks like some components are overheating, you may want to bring your computer to a local technician for help.
If you are running the game in Crossfire mode with two AMD graphics cards and you notice a significant drop in your FPS, run World of Warcraft in 32-bit mode.
If you are using a laptop with NVIDIA Optimus technology, you must force your computer to use the NVIDIA graphics card. See NVIDIA's support article for assistance.
Try running the game in a window and with no sound. You can enable windowed mode in the in-game System menu by changing the graphics Display Mode dropdown to Windowed. You can disable in-game sound by unchecking Enable Sound in the system Sound menu.
Try selecting a lower setting from the Sound Channels dropdown in the System > Sound menu.Note: Some add-ons may set Sound Channels back to High after installation.
Errors on your hard drive could be contributing to your entire computer slowing down. Run ScanDisk and Defrag to address hard drive issues.
