My question is weither or not he is right. So I come to you all on wowhead paladin forums. Is pulling more then three mobs efficient for a paladin to get through quests? Thanks.
If you're questing with a Prot Paladin, and you're a healer, and he can pull more than one mob... I don't see why not. He shouldn't have any chance of dying, and AOEing them down is going to be faster than one at a time if he's Prot.
As far as it being "efficient," it is as far as time spent fighting per kill. If he's talking about mana, that's true but only to an extent. Prot Paladins aren't as reliant on having to pull more and more mobs to keep mana up in Cata as we were in WotLK -- we're pretty self-sufficient.

With
Avenger's Shield
hitting 3 targets as well as dealing very good damage and a chance to reset the CD (
Grand Crusader
), i can see how he would justify this, and HotR hitting its targets the way it does, (everything in range) i'd say its not only a good idea, i'd recommend it. This way it's really easy to control 3 casters and then some melee. Questing with a paladin never felt this easy.

I think the long and short of it is that the two of you will kill 4 targets (for example) more quickly as a group of 4 than you would killing them individually. Sure, 3 is the magic number (yes it is), but it's not always possible to only pull 3.
Pallies have badass AoE tanky skillz. Recognise! :P
*disclaimer: I don't actually talk like that.

He's correct. Prot is awful at killing mobs one at a time compared to ret, but you can kill overall faster than ret if you aoe pull like crazy.
