Raid target icons on own team in battlegrounds

So this has been bugging me for a while. I BG with a couple of my friends quite often, but we tend to lose each other in the chaos, especially in bigger battlegrounds like AV.
Are there any addons or anything that would let me use raid icons (or something similar) on them within the battlegrounds?
Anything at all that would help me keep track of them would be great, preferably something easily noticeable.

What about turning on Friendly nameplates and turning off Enemy nameplates?
As for target icons ... I'm not sure if that's possible in BG-type raids. I haven't ever tried it. You'd also only be able to mark 8 people as there are only 8 raid target icons.
