I can open a tab just as desired with 'window.open(url, '_blank');' through the bookmarklet. But I can't access the URL there :Ю.

Hmm...
So, according to W3Schools...
_blank - URL is loaded into a new window. This is default
...blank is actually the one that's supposed to open in a new window. So, Chrome is already intercepting that and turning it into a new tab rather than a new window.

Indeed, except it opens in a new window when called from the external script. :(

Not sure what you can do about it. You could change the script to also write a link you can click into the document and then the click would be part of a real hardware event and it might work...

Is it trolling of me to give myself the title "Great Troll of Board 12"?
Post by
HighFive
Only if you don't actually consider yourself a troll, but would defend that title as if you were one. In a sense trolling anyone who would claim that you were not a troll.
In their eyes you would appear as not a troll. In truth you would actually be a troll, because you wouldn't actually be a troll, just pretending to be one.
So... Troll Science Paradoxes?
I approve of the term "Board 12" and will be adding that to my Board 12 Vocabulary.

I will never spell "judgement" as "judgment". I may be unconsciously affected by the way it's spelled in WoW, but it just doesn't look and feel natural as "judgment" to me.

I had a WTF moment the first time I realized the dictionary said it had no 'e' in it. Insofar as I'm not sold on the publicize vs. publicise et al spellings, I'm also on the fence about judg(e)ment.

I suppose you're against
argument
too, right? If you think judgment should be spelled judgement, then yea...

Isn't it Brittish and American english that makes them both valid?

Judg
e
ment is generally considered the correct spelling in the UK (therefore
the
correct spelling ^_^) though judgment is used in legal situations even in Britain, which probably accounts for the majority of its current use.
My own guess on Blizzard's choice is that they wanted to make it a subtle biblical reference or use what would look to US players like an archaism.

"90% of the worst UIs are using xperl. There's a lesson there somewhere." -Levistubbs

I think the lesson is that correlation does not imply causation, and using xperl does not make your UI bad.

Maybe not necessarily bad, but quite certainly ugly.

It clutters it, which is bad. Other addons work in a similar fashion, but cleaner and more functional.
It's like me, I clutter threads whilst others work in a similar fashion but cleaner and more functional.

I don't really think that's very cluttered. It's not beautiful, it's not a vast span of emptiness with little 2-pixel dots that indicate what's going on that flash on and off like the indicators on the face of the Eniac. It is, however, functional, and it provides me with the information I need to do my job(s).
Besides, the world's positive judgEment of the aesthetic merit of my UI is not required
:)
