Anybody with some views on the Double-Slit Experiment? I just want to hear what people's interpretations of it are.
Just recently, the Observation-part caused half of my classmates to enter a "God"-mode...

It's adding 'magic' to the equation, damn new-age kids..

Haha. It's simple enough to be understood by children while yours does not go too deep into formalities, so I think it's better. (plus, animated graphics - woo)

Huh, apparently I registered exactly 5 years ago.
Anyway, I am knowledgeable enough to say anything smart about the double slit experiment.
I don't exactly know what classifies as an "observation" and if any "observation" will produce the same results. And that's all I have to say about that.

Exactly, I want to know what the "observation" was. Was is a detector or a visual..? Either way they had to interfere with it and thus causing it to behave diffrently..

I want to know if there was any pattern, at all, to the dist. of é.

Try using Masque and choose a bar skinning style (Kenzo is pretty good).

I don't see the connection.
I don't see the problem either.

Could any of you English-natives explain "orthonormal basis" in a simple way, I've read nothing about it. Just the term, and I'd like to have it defined for me. I did a quick google search, ended up on Wikipedia and more confused by the sums than I were prior to it.

In linear algebra, a basis is a set of linearly independent vectors that, in a linear combination, can represent every vector in a given vector space.
"Orthonormal" is a portmanteau of "orthogonal" and "normal".
An orthogonal basis is one in which every two vectors are orthogonal (perpendicular) to each other.
A normal(ized?) basis is one in which all vectors are normalized. That is, their norm (length) is 1.
edit: Good formal definition
here
.
