Okay...stat-wise...what are the differing specs (BM, MM, SU) trying to achieve?
Currently, in my BM spec my stats are as follows with an iLevel 343. (
Without
pet and aspect buffs)
Damage: 3321-3985
DPS: 1278.7
AP: 9317
Speed: 2.86
Haste: 3.97% (509)
Hit Chance: 5.99% (720)
Crit Chance: 19.49 (1619)
Mastery: 17.05% (1622)
Since I'm mainly still questing and running regular and heroic dungeons (not raids) I'm not hugely concerned with my dps but would like to understand what we should be shooting for in our stats. I'm also not the brightest light-bulb but should I sacrifice so much Haste just to boost my mastery rating? Just doesn't seem right.
Is there a good 'balance' to shoot for among Haste-Mastery-Crit?

I applaud you for actually putting some time into this post, but literally look at any one of the threads posted on the front page of the Hunter forums and you have your answer:
Hit to 8% >Haste to 1.67 Cobra Shots > Crit > Mastery > Haste after 1.67 Cobra Shots
This is for Survival, though, as it's currently our best spec for Heroics and Raids.

There are specific numbers to shoot for, sorry. Let's try to make sure that everyone is putting out the basic (correct) information.
There is a haste soft-cap of 757 (for all races besides goblin) that people will want to reach after getting hit capped. After that point, haste DRAMATICALLY loses its value.
As said above, the priority for Survival hunters at this point is: Hit (to cap) > Haste (to softcap of 757) > Crit > Mastery > Haste (above 757)
