Both feral and balance and both great for leveling and fully viable raiding specs at 85. Generally for raiding ranged dps seem to have a bit of an advantage over melee dps (faster adds targeting and so on) but that's not really a huge deal.
Go with whatever you like more, it really only comes down to personal preference.
But keep in mind that if you ever plan to switch from balance to feral, now is the time. Now you will find tons and tons of quest gear and you can easily obtain a whole new item set while questing without having to win tons of off spec rolls in dungeons / raids. If you are serious about trying feral you better start early, once you are 85 and have your caster specs fully geared it will be a lot more annoying to build a melee set.

I leveled as feral and changed to moonkin after I hit 85. It took me some time, but I have a full set of gear for both specs now.
Most people were fine with needing gear for off-spec in random dungeons, so that made it easier to gear both specs.
If you have any epic ICC gear, you will be replacing all of that with quest greens and blues. Look over the gear from rep vendors to see what rep you want first.

Are there really that many times when you have to choose between feral or moonkin gear from quest rewards?
Level moonkin through hyjal, but save the feral quest rewards, then level feral through stonecore. You can probably upgrade both sets of gear by leveling through hyjal. I can´t think of any quests where you have to pick between a leather INT item and a leather AGI item as a reward... and I know for a fact that every single piece of gear for every spec is available while questing through Hyjal except one trinket.
