Every single person has a different opinion; if you find the game boring, I'd suggest looking into a different game.

People that hated Cata quit, the people that like it or simply just bought it to keep up,(which is by far, the larger group,) stayed, and Blizzard is still raking in the cash... At this point, I don't think Blizz can 'miss'.

Think of it this way, if you give Blizz more of your money, perhaps some of it will go into the /next/ expac, and maybe that one won't suck for you.

Anyone else think Cata was a swing and a miss for Blizzard? I took a break after Ulduar. Came back for Lich King. Leveled my toons to 85 for Cata and have since just not found the game enjoyable. I did put the game down and tried to come back to it but unfortunately I don't feel that rush and excitement anymore. Everything has become trivial.
What do you guys think?
look at a different game I personaly think that cata was the best thing that happened to wow since the internet was invented. best expansion ever and that comes from me being in Vanilla.

I personally love cata, its not too N00B friendly like WotlK, but its still good for the casuals to keep up, as long as they know what they're doing ;]

Doesn't feel like a miss to me. We are in there raiding, the bosses are all interesting, the heroic modes are challenging.
Still having fun here.

I had fun in Cata... it made the game feel like it did when I first started.
That being said, my account is currently inactive once again, because I've run out of things to do. I got bored of heroics (well, bored of waiting and then having tanks/healers wipe on the boss repeatedly), I don't really enjoy constantly wiping in raids, PvP has long lost its appeal, and I maxed out all the quests on my Shaman (thus making leveling another alt a matter of "oh, this again?").
*shrugs* They did a fine job, it's just that... I dunno. I can only level so many alts before I run out of server space (and sanity). My personal play style doesn't really mesh with WoW at the moment, so I'll suck it up and occupy my time some other way.

The voice acting for the trip to Hyjal ("Our forward outpost has been obliterated!") makes me cringe.
God that is the truth! It is horrible!

You don't say why you left. If it was due to boredom of raiding, then Cata really won't change anything for you from that point of view. Opening salvo for the top end of Cata has catered to strong guild structure. The tops guilds are progressing nicely through Cata raids. Go to the recruitment pages on their websites and you will see a robust flow of applications. The downside is frustrating progress for those not in strong guilds.
Try leveling a new toon to see what that does for you. Stay as much as possible in the newly revamped areas.
Trouble with WoW is that it's a hard game to break from because of all the time you have committed and it's hard to come back to because of the time you need to commit once again.

Not a miss for me. Not a hit either. On my inbred little server, no one does pugs due to them all taking away part of your soul. People are that bad. Raids? Got sick of raids in Wrath. No thank you.
For now I'm hammering out my 4th 85, and most likely hanging it up for a good long while as I'm just bored of the game. New quests have been done on 3 different 80's (soon to be 4th). Just not interested in the same things as Wrath. Standing around Dal (now SW) waiting for something to happen. Blech.

I am personally loving Cataclysm.
1. I think the new Cata zones with the phasing, scripted quest-lines, and cut-scenes are really great. I'm on my fourth time through them and I'm still enjoying them immensely.
2. I really like the new Cata Dungeons. Grim Batol is may favorite, but I like all the others also. Once you know the mechanics of the fights, it's a bit more forgiving, and more fun.
3. The new Goblin race is a hoot. I've leveled one to 84 now (my Goblin Rogue). The starting zone is amazing, the Goblin slums in Org are great, and generally I'm really enjoying my Goblin.
4. The changes to the old world are a blast. I leveled my Goblin through Stonetalon Mountains and other Kalimdor zones. They really feel new and interesting. It makes me want to level another alt in Eastern Kingdoms, to see all the changes over there too.
5. Gearing up for end-game is fun with Dungeon Rep etc. Running Tol Barad dalies is also fun, and I like what Blizz has done here.
Cheers.

This has been enjoyable for me as well. But Blizz did miss the boat on expanding world quest coverage. I always wondered why Blizz didn't incorporate quest givers that gave instance access to areas of similar leveling zones. For example a quest giver in Darkshore opening a portal that required you to go to Westfalls/Loch Modan....Desolace to the Hinterlands...etc. Flight patterns could be established more efficiently. This would have made world exploration so much more expansive and accessible. I know you can do it the old fashion way but it's not very time efficient.
