Hey there looking for some feed back on my pally dps.
Leveled him before cata hit and enjoyed him a lot then post cata did one dungeon and was absolutley shockingly bad, can't rememer why but i was and I ended up shelving him for a while to play around with the new cata stuff.
I'm bring him off the shelf and hoping to get him lvld up and runnoing heroics eventually. I know at the moment ret isn't in great shape but i hear things are improving next patch?
Any way on to reason for the thread, firstly is my spec looking okay
http://eu.battle.net/wow/en/character/veknilash/dirgin/simple
i think it's pretty much the norm. Secondly what should my dps be arond to be running cata normals without having abuse thrown at me; just spent about 15 mins on the dummy trying to get a hang on the rotation (i say rotation i mean getting used to clicking the flashing buttons when they proc and keeping inq up, as far as I know this is the 'rotation' now correct me if wrong?) and came away with 4.1kdps, is this bad or acceptable (im expecting quite a drop on trash is that right?)
p.s i am aware that my glyphs arn't optimal and im lacking enchants etc, I wasn't long dinged when cata hit and had only just started to look into them when i shelved him so i will be working on them, basically im a bit of a newb but working on it.

Having abuse thrown at you depends on who you're running with. I'm sure a guild would put up with 4k whereas elitist pugs would probably nerdrage at anything less than 6k.
Don't click unless you must. Every second you delay a proc can be a loss of another proc, you want to get rid of them ASAP (in the right order). All your spells with a higher priority than HW should definitely be hotkeyed to something easy to find.

This is not the right attitude. 6k DPS is
low
for an 85 that's (presumably) wearing the gear to get him into heroics. Wearing 333 quest blues and rep items, you should certainly be able to pull off 8 or 9k DPS single target with even a modicum of skill, much more if you're good.
Basically, the point I'm trying to get across is that there's no point going into heroics when you're not prepared for them. Gear, okay, sure you're fine for entry, but standing in front of a dummy and practicing is probably your best bet right now, not "MOAR GEARZ."
Edit: Wow, totally re-looked at the OP's armory. Not 85. So yes, for your gear, 4.1k unbuffed DPS isn't terrible, but what I stated still applies not necessarily to you, but people that think 5k DPS in a heroic dungeon is "good". Or that hunter in my Lost City last night that did 1.5k DPS on the second last boss.

He's asking about norms, not heroics.
