Considering that no one seems to want to do this, and that there seems some people asking questions about it, I figured I'd try my hand at a guide for people wanting to do Subtlety PvE since that's what I've been doing since Cata came out trying to make it work. Now then, the main purpose of this is not neccessarilly to put you at the top of the DPS charts (though given sub got buffed in this most recent patch, we might be doing substantially better), but instead to make it so that the sub rogues out there don't totally bomb. And with that we begin.
-------------------------------------------------
Spec:
8/2/31If your hit gets high enough you can think about subbing out one point from
Precision and place it into
Coup de Grace.
------------------------------------------------
Glyphs:
Prime:
Glyph of Backstab,
Glyph of Slice and Dice,
Glyph of Rupture.
Major:
Glyph of Tricks of the Trade,
Glyph of Fan of Knives, take your pick on what you think would be best on the last.
Minor: I would say pretty much any you wanted depending on the situation.
-------------------------------------------------
Stats:
I may or may not be wrong with this but I seem to have noticed this thus far.
Agility>Hit>Mastery>Haste>Exp>Crit
Agility: Pretty much speaks for itself. Even more so since speccing into sub gives us 30% greater agility. Agility means more attack power and crit.
Hit: Due to our mastery, our SnD's cause us to swing faster than the other rogue specs. Because of this, we have more chances to miss with our white hits. Not sure of what a good number would be, but I would think trying to aim for spell hit wouldn't be a bad thing.
Mastery: Makes our SnD's swing faster, our eviscerates hit harder, and our ruptures bleed more potently. Not sure at what point diminishing returns start making it not worth it, but given the fact that we have had our mastery buffed(1 point of mastery increases effectiveness of said abilities by 2.5%) with 4.0.6, I would assume it's still highly desirable.
Haste: Always a generally good to have stat. Aids us in swinging even faster as well. When mastery stops being of use for you to stack I would reccomend starting to go for this.
Expertise: Much like hit, with our increase in swinging speed this also makes it so we have an increased chance to be dodged making us want to try and get expertise on our gear. Same rules as old still apply, get it from gear, don't neccessarily worry about gemming or enchanting for it.
Crit: Everyone loves crit. We all love seeing big numbers. Even more so for Sub spec. Escpecially when our main attack does more damage when we crit than normal.
----------------------------------------------
Will finish in the near future, at work atm and it's dead. But my shift it getting close to being over, so I need to start cleaning.

Fixed. I also loved TBC's sub, even if it only worked in pvp.
