Just a quick question cause the tooltip comfuses me. Is the mana return a flat 1% no matter how many charges or is it a total of 5% for 5 charges?

Last I checked, Archangel (Evangelism) restored 1% regardless of the stacks you had. The same is for Dark Archangel (Evangelism) - 5% flat restored, the stacks only modify the amount of damage or healing done.

Guess it's 1% per stack. Idk how I got the idea it was flat, but I suppose I never used Archangel below max stacks. My bad. Tested it myself just now.

Archangel isn't that great for profit mana.
It's more of a reactive CD for controlled burst healing when needed.
With 3/3 atonemeant, your smite should provide the same amount of HPM as a normal heal with the sacrafice of choosing who get's the heal yourself. The 15 yrd range from the target also makes it bad to heal ranged dps with atonement. I wish the atonement heal was based off of 30 yrds from the priest instead but oh well.
From what I remember, it's 1% max mana back and 3% bonues healing per stack of evengalism towards Archangel.
without atonement, it's almost not worth using it as holy unless there are specific encounters where there is no dmg in some parts and very high dmg in others.
This may be incorrect but I just take 1% of my max mana and multiply that by the stacks of evang. to calculate the mana gain via archangel. I'm sure there are some other strange condeluded factors to consider from some random variable like always.

The mana refund is rather awkward, considering you will loose the cut on your next few smites.
So, it's just a burst HPS. And macro it with Power Infusion.

If you plan to cast more smites, don't pop archangel yet. When you switch to "normal" heals, pop archangel.
The discount and increased damage from evangelism roughly balances with the mana restore and healing bonus.
When you make that transition to healing though, that instead becomes actual mana restored, and bonus throughput and hpm.

smite heals more than "heal"

They seem pretty close, but ok. The only notable draw backs tend to be that you can't chose who atonement grabs and it's limited range.
I seriously don't get why atonement was designed to be bad at healing ranged dps.
Maybe there is some pvp reason that explains why.
