My client seems to be spamming me with this for non-Arch related tasks (namely, turning in Tol Barad dailies and porting between Tol Barad and Stormwind.
Only happens on one of my computers though, so it might be local.
=) I'll update this if I find other activities that cause it, or if it stops =)
Edit:
Turns out I hadn't updated the Looter on my laptop, and it was disabled. It happens on both my computers.

I am also getting this message spammed constantly while questing. It seems to slowly eat up memory, as well, and may be the cause of very hiccupy framerates that have just started for me:

Did you happen to update the looter addon yesterday by running the wowhead client? I've been tweaking the looter's spam system lately, and it has gotten much more quiet.
I've added a 'WL_VERSION_PATCH' variable for bug-fix changes & such - to help us all know which version of the looter addon we're talking about! :)
The current version of the looter is 40015, patch 0 - as of today's latest looter.

Yes, it was up to date, version 40014. I'm not as concerned about the spam, per se: I saw that /wl has an option to turn down the message spam. I'm more concerned with the very frequent momentary pauses that I've started seeing, especially each time I loot, which is when WL now says it collected data. It may be another addon , but the timing with the new WL message seemed like an avenue to investigate.

My version is 40015, and it's still doing it (Archeology on any Tol barad turn in). I've also been noticing some frame rate issues after I've been logged in for awhile ('stuttering' is a good description), not sure if it's related. Also, the same goes for me, I'm less worried about the spam (which I realize I could just suppress) and more worried that the looter is not functioning they way it's supposed to.

I updated it yesterday, and started getting the Archaeology spam on a character that doesn't have it trained. Went away, but it was weird.

Is there any way to just completely turn off all of the channel spam? It really doesn't help me to know that it's updated something.

I'll have to do this.
I'm in the same boat as Heckler. My Wowhead addon will spam me saying my archaeology has been updated after doing random things, especially when turning in a TB quest.

I've been getting this too, and then today I started doing battlegrounds, and it's just
constant
in there! At one point it was like,
"You got an honor point.
Archaeology data collected!
Alliance assaulted the farm!
Archaeology data collected!
Archaeology data collected!
Rogue died.
Archaeology data collected!"
(It didn't actually have an exclamation point, of course, it just seemed like it...)
I read above that I can turn off the message spam, but this can't be right behavior, if it's continually collecting data for archaeology while I'm in a bg never opening a tradeskill window.
When it loads it says it's 40015.
