Hello =)
Just wondering, being unholy specc'd .. will it matter what race i should be "horde" ?
I mean, would it be better to be, for example, goblin, than orc? dps-wise?
Thanks! :D

I don't if that's true, seeing as haste is very valuable for UH.
If I remeber correctly, EJ's guide for UH specifies which race is best, so I would check there.
Orc and goblin are defently superiour to the rest, and I doubt there is a great difference between the two.

Goblin and Troll arguably are on same level.
Goblins receive passive 1% haste boost from
Time is Money
and the
Rocket Jump
can be a decent utility.
Trolls receive 1.1% haste boost if their
Berserking
is used each time it is available, and
Beast Slaying
might be useful on rare encounters
Orcs on another hand receive
Blood Fury
which provides around 146 attack power, very nice.
Also
which is not as useful, works on axes only, which we in often case, will not be wielding. But if you have an axe in your hand, it's great.
All 3 of those are decent choices for PVE.

Did they get rid of the orc +damage to pets racial? If not then that's another huge reason to go orc as unholy.
oops.
forgot about that.
with
orc takes lead over all other races, it would seem.

Goblins do NOT receive 1% Haste, it's 1% attack speed. They are NOT the same thing.
Troll is nowhere close to either Goblin or Orc.
Orc > Goblin >> Troll >> Blood Elf >> everything else.

yes, but in fact trolls/goblins have same bonus right?
attack and casting speed increase.

One thing you seem to forget is that Orcs look like hunched over green apes. ;)
Not hating on hordies, just pointing out a possible aesthetic turn off. But if you are a diehard min/maxer, I don't think looks matter to you. But yes, Orc is hands down the best Unholy DK race in the game.

Berserking is 20% for 10 sec with a 180 sec CD. This means that the actual value in attack speed of that racial is as follows:
Bonus * Uptime
20% * (10/180)
20% * 5.56% uptime
1.12% attack speed
Goblins are more maneuverable and the Berserking buff from Trolls' value is calculated like you use it every single time it's available. Any time you spend not using the ability (like, say, timing it with your UF + Garg for maximum benefit) detracts from the ability's worth. This weighs more in favor of Goblins in this case.
In addition, Goblins have the option to utilize the hand rocket versus the Goblin jump for more DPS, pushing the scale weigh over in their favor.
Still doesn't beat Orc 5% pet damage, though.

Mac31892, I fail to see how a Worgen's 1% increased crit chance trumps:
1.) A 2 min CD that increases Attack/Spellpower (burst)
2.) 5% increased pet damage (a good part of Unholy DPS)
3.) If an axe is wielded, +3 Expertise for more hits (more DPS).

To verify, this is actually pretty overvalued. Expertise is one of our least valued secondaries (along with crit, I suppose), but your post may lead people to believe that this is a legitimate racial to consider. It really isn't all that big of a deal, since most of us wont expertise cap in the first place, or aim to whatsoever.
While under the effect of Bloodlust/Unholy Frenzy, decently-geared DKs are at the GCD cap, meaning Expertise's value rises somewhat moderately. For me, that makes it worth more than crit at least.

Quite the opposite!
When timing the ability to UF+Garg for maximum benefit you do that to
increase
its value. If it would decrease the value of the cooldown you could just not time it. You only time it when it's worth it, which weighs more in favor of the Orc and Troll racials and against the Goblin one.
Damage cooldowns are usually worth
more
, not less, than their average value, at least if you sync them up with other things properly.

Incorrect. The value of the racial that I calculated assumed you used it on CD every time. While your point would normally merit truthful for stacking on the Gargoyle, if you have any sort of Haste on your gear, your Gargoyle will, quite easily, GCD cap with nothing but Unholy Frenzy on yourself. The Garg cannot cast any faster than once every 0.8 seconds and--since UF and Garg share the same duration CD--UF should put it at that point every time if you're in 346+ gear that's properly itemized. Bloodlust/Heroism offer the same benefit to the Gargoyle.
This means the entire point of the Haste benefit is either to be used after a BL expires or a UF expires on you or to be weaved in between the other CDs when you get Strength procs up. Again, however, it's not as strong as, say, Blood Fury would be in the same scenario, nor is it as strong as the Goblin bonus since you will likely not use Berserking every single time it's up.

If the Gargoyle gets GCD capped then it's easily possible to use the racial on every cooldown (just macro it to a key that's spammed anyway).
In that case it has exactly the same value as its average.
But whenever there is a possibility to stack it with other cooldowns this value increases. It never decreases. That's what I meant.
