Guild Virgin: Best way to find a Guild?

I just reached lvl 85 on my Human Warrior nd have never been in a Guild.
I have always just gotten random invites from guilds while in Stormwind or situations like that.
But it always seemed sketchy. I've been happy to just use Battle/Dungeon finder. Now To get the gear I require to move along in the game I realize I need to be in a Guild.
When I find guilds looking for people online the requirements leave me confused because I've never been in a Guild so 80% of what they are asking I've no idea what they're talking about.
Any advice for how to find a decent Guild or some insight on how to judge if a Guild is worth your time should you just join one randomly?
Thanks

There are several ways to judge a guild and they depend on your personality and playing style. Some guilds like to raid and they want you to be a regular player at specific times. Other guilds like are less formal and will help you to get geared when they can. Still others like to concentrate and achievements or skills. I personally do not like guilds filled with young teenagers with behavior issues, or who like to use guild chat to say nasty things to each other.
Once you know what you want in a guild, then you can start looking at prospective guilds for your realm. A growing guild will have a variety of players from the beginning levels with a core group of 85s for serious raiding. Use the /who <guildname> command to see who is online. Bigger guilds will have more people online at a given time. Look for guilds that have a web presence - you can get a lot of information by looking at their website. Talk with people in the guild and ask them what they like about their guild. Avoid guilds that constantly spam the trade chat with invites

I don't have any general advice that hasn't already been stated, but I do have guilded toons on multiple servers and a few friends other good guilds that I'm not in. If you don't mind stating what server you're on I may be able to suggest a good guild for you.

Official server forums, Correct me if I'm wrong, may be a place too start.
Or just say some thing along the lines of: LF Guild whisper me information and goals of your guild.
