I guess I always thought that a 30% extra Crit chance on Backstab was essential to being a Sub rogue. However it seems that a lot of recommended specs say to choose Quickening over this.
Is Puncturing Wounds no longer needed for a Sub Rogue? Does it depend on how much Crit I have normally?

PvE or PvP wise? (I assume PvP)

PVP, good sir.

I would recommend looking at stickies of Sub PvP on different forums and see what specs high rated Rogues use. Then try it yourself, and stick to the one you are most comfortable with.

Only problem I'd have with taking PW over Quickening is the drop in Recuperate healing

I know I probably didn't fill them out correctly, but the Combat and Ass parts are the important ones. I think he's having a hard time deciding between

Yes, that is essentially my dilemma. As an only semi-serious PVPer, is that extra 20% on Recuperate more important than having a Backstab with over 50% crit rate?
I love PVP, but I understand my limitations and I'm not really trying for a 2k+ rating in Arena. So advice more suited to BGs or Arena against players who aren't Grim in disguise is what I'm looking for.

Again, it's your own choice, if you want more survivability Quickening, more damage, Puncturing Wounds. Personally, I roll with Puncturing Wounds, I don't have that good gear on my Rogue yet, so the extra damage can help a lot. Point being: Do what you think suits you best.
