K, what one of your 89 topics would you recommend I start with... I do need more or better names or ideas for many of the 100 for this story. And I did have it better formatted on the word doc. But wowhead hates me... also ... is fun
Oh, I didn't mean you should post it in L&RP, I was merely suggesting you go there to see how forum posting works.
And I also wasn't intending to advertise my posts. If you really want to read some,
I have them all collected here. My main point was that you should check out some of the stories there (I especially recommend Neonhyper's) so you can see how to post a story in a forum, and what formatting techniques you'll need, etc.
For the story itself, I'd highly recommend breaking it up more. This is what I'd do:
The book was found by the first name on the list, now know as Knowledge. His ability is to see in the near future and past and also look into the minds of other people if their name is not in the book. Knowledge found the book when he was exploring a cave. It was what he did for fun before he found the book.
He never before had been to this cave, he had heard from locals that it was cursed, anybody that went goes blind. He had heard local myths like this before and was sure it wasn’t true. He went into the cave it was huge. One of the largest caves he ever found.
No the largest of sure he thought to himself. He had explored many caves before so he thought this would be no different.
Exploring the cave made for a day long journey.
He just felt compelled to hunt high in low, as with every new cave for him. Working his to the back of the cave he found something out of place. A large wall of a different stone with this written on it “My word is law, if your name is here you are the watch of this world, you are to guide and gu” the rest of the message worn away by water and time. He put his hand on the wall and it faintly glowed, then a door appeared.
Flabbergasted by the sudden appearances of the door and glowing of the stone he could not figure out how to move his legs for a few moments. When he remembered how to walk he opened the door.
The room beyond the door was a luminous white nothing of note in it except a small podium with a leather bound book on top of it. He walked up to it and opened it to the first page and read it.
His name.
This cave was ancient how could a book form before he was born, before his great-grand father was born, have his name in it. He flipped the page hoping for an explanation and that is what he found. As well as a perfect picture of himself and an eye patch, and his name written again. When he touched the eye patch his name disappeared to be replaced by Knowledge.
He latter started a group know as Guides of the Book. From the outside they seam to be a research group with religious undertones. He had found 14 other people with there names in the book each had been given an object from it and a new name by it.
This happened 10 years ago.
Just break it up a little bit more. It's much more readable. Also, there's a few different vocabulary mistakes and the like. I'd highly recommend that you'd go visit an author you might know, or an English teacher or the like and have them proofread your stories.
