Well said my friend.
Basically keep him slowed when not feared or Hand of Gul'dan rooted. Keep a circle handy(as should be always) for when they bubble. Pop meta if he pops wings. Pallys are easy sauce as lock. Ret shouldnt get anywhere near you if done right, proto is a pain but wins are usually assured.

Seriously though, you can use demo form to get a bit more physical resistance or leap at the target to continue/chain stun/leap away to get room. Make sure you have resilience as high as possible. Time your stuns, snares, and roots well. If snared yourself stay within a HoG aura until it procs, then move. Fear.
Everything will change with every fight. Just shut them down and keep your distance. If you can't keep your distance bulk up until you can root/stun/snare and get away, or fear. They'll be breaking fear left and right so don't expect to sit there for 8 seconds of free time.
Get Glyph of Shadowflame too.

Great tips Damaskus! Love the HoG idea.
Here's what I've found useful against rogues and pallys:
Always have a Demonic Circle and Healthstone ready.
When rogues attack from stealth, have your felguard stun them immediately (Axe Toss), which will usually give enough time to cast fear (or if they Cheap Shotted you, either Trinket + Fear or Death Coil + Fear once stun breaks). Same goes for HoJ.
To get some great burst out of the gate: follow up the Axe Toss w/ Felstorm. They'll have to just sit there and take it for 4 out of the 6 sec duration.
Use Shadowflame (glyphed) just before using DC to allow time to cast HoG or get some Drain Life in if necessary.
Don't forget about Howl of terror. Despite the cast time, it still has great utility.
Its fun to stun-lock a rogue:
Axe Toss = 4 sec
Fear w/ glyph = up to 8 secs
HoG when timed right = 2 secs
Demon Leap = 2 secs
rinse and repeat until win
Damaskus hit it on the nose though, they will break everything they can, but in my experience, persistence can really make the win.
Last note: remember to whenever possible be casting Fel Flame while kiting/strafing (I have this bound to the back button on my mouse).
Hope this helps :D
