DC from the game but not the chat!

Ok, this is really starting to annoy me... me and my GF is playing on a ADSL connection and some days it's pretty unstable so I have a constant cmd window with a ping running to see when it fails!
But what's really weird is that lately we've been getting dc from the game, ie. no mobs, can't cast spells etc but the chat keep working just fine! I've noticed it is when I loose just a few pings...
The problem is that I never get dc... right now I've been in the game for 20 minutes, being DC all the time but not getting logged out! Sure, I can force a shutdown from the taskmanager but lately I've been getting some of my addons totally reset by doing this... and organizing all the buttons in macaroon a few times each day stops being fun!
Does anyone else have the same problem?

Nope, I am on cable internet and never in the last 6yrs of playing has that ever happened to me. I would call your ISP and ask if they can send someone out to check the lines and make sure your hardware is up to date (ISPs love to not tell you when you can get free new hardware). Because really? you gotta leave a cmd window up to check your pings just to play the game? Sounds like either a really bad ISP or your PC could possibly just be getting too old? Also do you run off a wireless router? If you have a out dated router that can also cause connection problems

I have on occasion, when the servers were buggy (usually after a major patch) had the chat still work while the rest of the game was frozen. Not for very long- usually after a minute or two, live play caught up or I disconnected.
