He isn't easy right now!
But back in the day he was used for a Rogue pick-pocketing quest and as such had to be a 'killable' mob. This got abused and eventually it was part of any Horde player's life to kill or kite him to somewhere ridiculously far away. If you didn't a GM would ban you for life.

And if you were a priest you had to mind-control him and use him to go around kicking people, causing them to take a break from their ah-playing or mailbox perusing to shake their fists at Gamon.

Hey hey... I never killed Gamon on my characters!
I always felt bad for the poor guy.
Now that he's all super powered, I cheer him on while he wrecks people who can't break the habit.

Ok this has been bugging me since iv started playing WoW . . . . . Why is Gamon killable in Org? Did he do something? Thanks for your time :)
There was a
rogue quest
that required you to pickpocket him so he had to be flagged as attackable. Since the quest has since been removed from the game I'm not certain why you can still attack him.

Pre-cata, this was my routine while visiting Orgrimmar:
1) Kill Gamon
2) Check mail

Unfortunately he is very difficult to kite anywhere now. From what I've heard they made him faster than walk speed, or gave him a crazy charge or something because of a few reasons. My favorite being that when groups of allies were trying to kill Garrosh, Horde would kite Gamon into to Garrosh's Keep, and the aoe would always catch Gamon. Chaos ensues.
I still walk by and see what I can get away with. So far....nothing.
