Just wondering what the best combination of poisons is for pve combat.
This is whilst leveling through instances.
I'm guessing its IP on MH and WP/IP on OH, stuff dies too fast for deadly to stack up atm.
(I'm using BoA Mace in MH, and BoA non-resi dagger in OH)
Currently running IP/IP

Urggg, think its Wound / DP
Wound procs more than Ip, so it makes up for the loss of damage.
For bosses it's DP, but you can run around with Wound / Wound just fine to save poison stacks

Instant of your MH and Deadly on your OH. End of for PvE.

Considering that you are combat you will always want
DP
on your OH, after 5 stacks it also starts procing your other hand's poison, which results in more DPS than having rather IP/IP or WP/WP. As of the MH's poison
WP
is better because of the higher chances to proc, which are 50%, against
IP
that has only around 20%.
Or at least this is how it used to be in early WotLK, you can know more about that here:

Your link is pretty out-dated. Ever since 3.1.0 Instant and Wound poisons have been PPM normalized around 1.4 weapon speed instead of a flat %. Wound still has the higher proc chance though (100% on a 2.8 weapon vs. Instant's 40%). Wound is the best leveling option for anyone not Assassination, but do keep in mind that regardless of spec Instant Poison scales much better with your gear.

Oh yeah, I forgot about the normalization. So if your MH has a 2.8 speed, WP has 100% chances to proc against IP's 40%.

But hey, are you suggesting that there might be a scenario where a combat rogue with BiS gear is going to use IP on his MH?

Yes, at higher gear levels Instant starts to outperform Wound by a fair amount even with a lower proc rate.

There gotta be an AP cap to when switch from WP to IP then. This is interesting stuff, I'm looking forward to investigate about how much AP this cap is, unless someone already knows tthe answer, that would be really cool.

Lol...so then it's always necesary in PvE to use IP on MH and DP on OH, no matter the spec you use. Well guys...I don't want to sound rude or something, but you should bring some proof to the table, everyone is missleaded here.

Unless I missed the news, rogues should be using IP/DP and have been for a very long time. I took a couple months off here, but taken straight from elitest jerks:
"Currently, as a Combat rogue you should put IP on your MH and DP on your OH. For most fights where you need to use FoK, you will want WP on your throwing (you cannot poison other ranged weapons or use FoK with them) because it takes "roughly" 30+ seconds for DP to be worth using. If a slow is needed, consider specing into Blade Twisting (explained above) instead of actually putting Crippling Poison on your weapon. It is reasonable (about a 4% DPS loss) for a Combat rogue to provide MS with WP on their MH though, several specs can provide the same debuff at no sacrifice (Shadow Priests for example). Remember, Anesthetic Poison no longer exists and is baked into your Shiv."
You can count on the fact that the users over there have done the math.
This
is what we were looking for.
