Little more info would be helpful. How did you attempt to install your addons?
Edit: Well, it's been 20 min and you haven't been back. I'm going to sleep and hopefully someone will be able to help you within the next 8 hours. If not, I'll be back.

Well, there's no way for us to determine why your addons disappeared, but it sounds like you're just going to have to re-download them.

my addons were working then one day i logged on and they wernt ther and there in the addon folder ive used then for ages
there is no addon folder to put them in.
So your addon folder disappeared? Also, the above two statements seem to contradict each other.
If you are missing a default folder that is installed with WoW, you may need to uninstall and reinstall the program, as that would be a symptom of a larger problem.
Also, run a virus/malware scan on your computer. Folders do not delete themselves.

Errhmm, not to be impolite but a English lesson wouldn't hurt!
And to the problem, make sure you don't got 2 World of Warcraft installed on you're computer.
If you got two WoW folders, you've maybe opened the on you don't often use. Just if.

Not to put too fine a point on it, but there's a saying about rock throwing and glass houses....
That said, the possibility of a second installation is a valid one.
Also, OP, are you using a PC or Mac? This could affect how easily folders can accidentally get misplaced.

Double check inside the other folders, or do a search on your computer for a folder named "AddOns". Most of the times when someone loses a folder it's because they accidentally moved it somewhere without realizing.

You addons should be located at this directory
C:\Program Files\World of Warcraft\Interface\Addons
(I know this directory has been stated already, but this is a clearer way to show the directory imo. Maybe they could find it this way, if it exists)
if they are not there then somehow your addons got deleted.
IDK if i'm allowed to post a link to a addon client or not. hopefully it is ok to suggest to download one.
Unless you're playing in Vista, in which that is a bad place for it...

Or on a Mac. The OP still has not clarified anything about the system he is using.
