Well, since each person's gaming needs are different, that is a hard question to answer. Assuming you are going to play WoW on it, then both machines will do that very well. Both companies offer the ability to customize, FN probably has more options overall, but Alienware/Dell may be able to offer more baseline options at a lower price because they are a considerably larger company.
As far as warranty coverages go...you will have to look that up. I am sure both companies offer extensive warranty coverages, most offer a year free, then you pay for further coverage. Alienware may win out on this though as again they are a much larger company.
There are no real pros/cons to either. Dell is the parent company of Alienware, Falcon Northwest is its own entity. Both build excellent gaming machines, especially if you have the money to buy them. I think it comes down to more personal preference on case design and extra little features. Honestly, with so little info to go on as far as what you are looking to get out of the machine, all I can say is both will easily handle WoW. Both are reliable companies that have been around a long time making high performance computers, and you won't go wrong with either of them. If you are looking to save a little money, expand your case choices, and be able to pick every part you want in your computer, consider building your own. No, you don't get the comprehensive warranty coverage as each part will have its own warranty, but you will be able to get the exact computer you are looking for if you do it yourself.
Also, don't waste money on the "factory-tuned overclock" gimmicks. They don't do anything you can't do, but they will be happy to take your money to do it for you. A new computer from these companies will be fast enough, there is no need to drop extra money on having someone overclock the computer for you.

There any reason you aren't building your own or having a friend build it for you? I only ask because you can do more that way, premades are usually pretty expensive for what you get.
That said, if I was going for a premade, I'd probably get Alienware just because the brand name is something and their cases are pretty cool. =)

I'd be very cautious with purchasing an Alienware machine. Having helped a friend choose one specifically for his needs going through each part and explaining the cost/performance ratio to him, it took Alienware not 1, not 2 not even 3, but 4 months to finally build and ship his $5,000 laptop.
His order was constantly delayed with no real explanation as to why as he was passed from one Customer service individual to another. At one point he became so frustrated that he cancelled the order and finally was passed to an actual Alienware Tech who managed to explain to him. Needless to say he continued with his order and now has one of the sickest Alienware laptops I've ever seen.
Ever since Dell "acquired" Alienware, their Customer Service has gone down the toilet but if you can get passed that, they still produce the best laptops in my opinion.

I live nowhere near a computer store, but I have built my own for years. Check out
www.newegg.com
. They ship anywhere in the US, they have good prices, and everything you need to build a computer just as good as any Alienware or FN computer at literally half the price or better. If you have the knowledge to build, don't waste all your money on a high end premade computer, they are so overpriced for what you get, and in most cases you will get your parts in 3 business days. Good luck getting a customized premade faster than that.
