Here is my armory:
http://us.battle.net/wow/en/character/dragonmaw/yawgm%C3%B8th/advanced
I feel like I'm not doing as much dps as I could be - on 10man BH I only pulled 20k dps while a shaman did 22k.
I have all the basics down, hit capped, almost no expertise, etc.
Generally I start with garrote -> vendetta -> snd -> mut -> rupture -> mut(once/twice depending on venomous wounds procs/time on snd) -> envenom -> mut to 4+ CP -> CB -> envenom...
After that its keep rupture up and envenom at 4+ CP.
Anything else I should be doing?

It doesn't matter much how many CPs you use on rupture, as long as you maximize it's uptime.

I'd fall over and die with joy if I hit 20k on Argaloth presently. I've been in 2 guild raids and 5 pugs, and I haven't seen anyone break 15k. Your gear is good, but it isn't elite. I wouldn't be worried, and you ought to be giving the rest of us tips if 20k is accurate.
You open with
Garrote
on Argaloth? Do you start the fight positioned behind him and then move? Argaloth isn't assassination-friendly because you're stacked in front of him for 1/2 the fight.

last argaloth fight i was setted at 21.6k
only things i do:
- stay behind boss, you aren't needed for the cleave part, both in 10 and 25 man.
- as opener garrote>rupture>snd/mut snd (if ruth procs or not) > start 4+ cycle
- i find myself better with 4+ ruptures, but using less cp doesn't affect my dps much; anyway you should aim for 100% rupture uptime

Is there any addons that work good for keeping an eye on rupture, snd, and other stuff you need so you don't need to keep looking up? I thought there was one that showed cp's too.
I use RoguePowerBars

For CPs you can use Status Bars 2, Rogue Focus Classic (outdated but functional), or I believe you can make your own with Power Auras. There are probably a number of other choices as well.
I use Rogue Power Bars to track SnD, Rupture, Deadly Poison, etc...but there are other choices as well.

On the argoloth topic, I stay behind him and run in front of him a few seconds before he casts meteor cleave on my side.
I did BH10 again today, but only did 19k. I was missing the 10% attack speed buff though, that might have been the cause.

NeedToKnow, ForteXorcist, PowerAuras, there are thousands.
I decided to get rid of them and configure the UI for me. It's surprising (ot here) that standard blizzard UI has pretty much all you need. The fact is that it is positioned/sized/used very bad.

It doesn't matter much how many CPs you use on rupture, as long as you maximize it's uptime.
ruptures from 2CP and higher will be infact be free and provide you additional energy, only a 1point rupture will actually cost you energy.
So the higher you rupture is the more energy benefit you will have and in theory 5CP ruptures are best.

Hate to bring back a 3 day old thread, but keep reading down to post #572. The original calculations didn't take into account Ruthlessness. Furthermore, Aldriana goes into a far more in-depth discussion on the next page. Turns out, using only 5pt Ruptures is only about 4.8% more efficient in terms of damage per energy (which is actually what matters in the end) than only using 1pt Ruptures.

Turns out, using only 5pt Ruptures is only about 4.8% more efficient in terms of damage per energy (which is actually what matters in the end) than only using 1pt Ruptures.
The actual conclusion goes like this:
A 5pt rupture is roughly 4.8% more efficient in terms of damage per time than a 1pt rupture. As a more useful way of looking it: while a 1pt rupture is up, you are doing 155.9 damage per second less than you optimally would; over the 12 second duration of the rupture, this costs you 1870.82 damage. This is equivalent to the amount of damage you lose by having rupture down entirely for 1870.82 / 3375.32 = .554 seconds.
Hence the conclusion: it is better to use larger ruptures than smaller ruptures, but its better to use a 1pt rupture than to wait even a single GCD to apply a larger one.
